I’m sorry I really need to rant for a moment. I’ve been TTing daily and in game it’s been MONTHS and I haven’t had a single campsite visitor! I have no smugs so I’ve been hoping for either Raymond or Marshal to visit, but it’s impossible without a visitor. I know they want to use it mainly for amiibos but some of us can’t afford those high prices and it’s infuriating!!

The chance to get a campsite visitor is SO low at the moment. Even if you had a visitor every single week, the chance that really get only Raymond or Marshal is probably less than one percent, given how many villagers there are in total. Your chances are bigger when visiting nook miles island and going island hopping..

If that's true, it might be a more reliable way of getting a dreamy than hoping to luck out on an island tour. Or it would be if it weren't for the rarity of campers of any personality showing up.

Yeah I currently have 0 smugs on my island so I’ve been trying to use that for the campsite in bettering my chances. But I haven’t had any campsite villagers that it’s genuinely so frustrating.

Yeah I would like to try to go island hopping but I have 10 villagers currently. Trying to get one of them out so I can take my chances with the mystery islands but currently I can’t do that

The rates are insanely low from what I've heard.
I think it's something worth contacting nintendo over as well as the villager adoption glitch? The requirement of the campsite and the low rate makes zero sense especially since they didn't re-release amiibos.

I was really lucky to have Marshal's legit amiibo as well as all of my dreamies (Kijiji lady sold them to me for $1CAD each lmao which is like 75 cents USD)
But even with that said, it's been really horrible with the added downside that you can't choose who you kick out when you do get one. I believe nintendo has a contact line that's used for glitches and errors. The frequency rate doesn't seem intentional, otherwise they would've re-released amiibos in a big way.

ive only ever had 3, and that was beardo who i had to force invite thanks to tom nook, broffina and peck. i really hate how it has to be a smug, as snugs are among one of my least favorite personality types

New Leaf was the amiibo height of AC and campsite still had higher spawns. Also Nintendo didn't restock amiibo cards outside of France so it doesn't line up. This seems like just poor spawn rates again. I'm a game design student so it's just... kind of not adding up.

it's honestly SO annoying to me how low the campsite rates seem to be, it's ridiculous, it was higher in NL and even NL was too low for me... i've repeatedly seen the suggestion that they want it to be mostly for amiibos but that's just like, why? i mean they literally force you to build it in this game instead of it being optional like in NL, and you still can't demolish it. it should get more use, not less if it's gonna be mandatory to have. and not everybody has amiibo cards, which they haven't reprinted outside of japan. i hope they'll increase the rate, i always get so excited to check my campsite in NL and in this game there's hardly ever a visitor even when TTing.

Yeah I completely agree. If the campsite was optional then okay fine, but since it’s mandatory it would make sense to have more use for it. But as it is now it’s just decoration at this point.

exactly! i see how people get the idea that they mostly want it to be used for amiibos, and it might be true, but i wish they'd at least reprint the cards if that's the case. some of the prices people want for individual ones are really bad, marshal's being a good example... i wish you luck in finding him or raymond soon!

Yeah over 80 dollars for a card.. it’s ridiculous and frankly insulting. Hopefully I’ll have some stroke of luck for the both of them. Thank you!

I'm maintaining a sort of cautious optimism though! Because they tweaked the spawn rate of the bunny day stuff. Maybe if they get enough feedback regarding campers they'll revisit those as well. For all I know, it's not even working as intended. I mean, it's a really low spawn rate.

I agree. Even if I wasn’t actively looking, it’s always fun to have a visitor. Plus it was always a good chance to see if anybody else would want those visitors in New Leaf. The fact that other people can’t adopt your campers now is terrible in my opinion. Yeah it is an insanely low rate. They really need to fix it

I think it’s supposed to higher your chances of getting a missing personality, not that it’s a 100% guarantee?

Hmmm. Based on the observation, I want to say I had every personality, but Melba wasn't what the game wanted for trade. It was Reneigh for Lolly. Now I have two normal types on my second island. IDK the data is not reliable at this point. If only people had more campers maybe we could see a pattern.

while trying to cycle i ended up resetting my game 180 times and not once did i get a camp site villager... another problem i have with it is that if you have 10 villagers and want them to move in you can, it's just they'll kick out a random villager... emphasis on random. i don't understand why you aren't just able to select one like when you select who's house you want to move...

I can say I got Chrissy, a peppy, in my campsite when I had no peppies but my next cam'per was Billy, a jock, while I had two jocks. I think I also got a smug in there while not having any though? (Edit: Should clarify I mean as a more recent one, not as the first one you're forced to take who's always smug!) It's hard to really come up with conclusive data when everyone gets so few campers overall tbh.

exactly... ZERO SENSE. NADA. what's the point of low rate of campers, even when your island isn't full? i don't get the concept of having the campsite be mandatory but barely meeting 1 villager out of hundreds for WEEKS. are you supposed to play for 2 years in order to meet at least 40? if this is about amiibo, then just rerelease them already! why even make a new 3-day move in process for amiibos?

some of the choices they made is very questionable (like, random kick out or even why fixing the i've moved out glitch is taking too long)
