Campsite has to change

I don't really see it as that bad, but I'm also not that bad at the card game. Actually, it seemed like they just repeated their sequence. At least, for me they did. It was really easy. But maybe I was just lucky. Also, it's been a while so maybe I just remembering wrong, but I feel like I was able to select who to move out when I got Robin. Though, I use amiibo a lot, so my memory is probably just faulty on that front.

I will say, yes, it does take a long time. Supposedly the game checks if you haven't had a camper in four days and then tells the game that the player is read to try for a camper. It's the same kind of RNG that deals with Redd and the gang.

I don't really think it's Nintendo wanting to get people to buy amiibo cards mostly because they haven't been constantly rereleasing the card packs. Sure they rereleased them in Japan and the UK for a bit, but once they were sold out, they were gone and haven't came back. Plus, they STILL HAVEN'T rereleased the cards in America. All those cards that people are buying are secondhand cards, not from Nintendo. They're not getting any money from amiibo cards, atm. It's all these people out there that are seeing an opportunit with the AC craze and are milking the avid fans. It's kinda the same process that scalpers use. They see an item that is incredibly popular, buy the item out of stock and sell them online for high dollar prices. I bet you that a lot of the rereleased cards were boughts by these scalpers for the opportunity to make bank. Nintendo has seriously lost an opportunity to ACTUALLY make people want to buy the amiibo card packs by not making them available everywhere.

I know what you mean about the bad RNG luck, but on one of my accounts I've seen Raymond, Marshal, Apollo, and others!

If you're not getting them to suggest the villager you actually WANT to have move out, before responding to their dialog (resident suggestion) hit the home button and quit the game and restart and try again. Rinse and repeat as necessary. Yeah, you have to go through their rigmarole again but you're not going to lose a villager you really want to keep. <3

I wish campers came more often especially in the first few months of the game. I got lucky twice with random campers, but never had such luck in NL. I think it would be more fun if there were more campers!

As someone who heavily used the campsite function in ACNL (I didn't have good internet connection to adopt villagers from other towns so I was dependent on the campsite reset trick), I was pretty bummed the campsite in ACNH rarely has villagers. I maybe get 3 per month, and the fact that there isn't a reset trick for it makes me think the campsite is pretty useless at this point. I think having the mystery island tours is a reason why the campsite function was compromised, but it could be the profiting from the amiibo feature too.

I've only had one campsite villager move in, Fuschia (which was odd since I already had an uchi), but playing the game and constantly losing was painful LOL. I reset maybe 10 times for her to kick out one of the villagers I hated.

edit: I'm aware there is a campsite trick for ACNH, but TT-ing a month or so ahead makes me feel weird because of all the weeds I have to clean up.

I agree! Even if you want to skip the crap and use amiibo cards, it's even worse. Why does everything in this game seem to be monotonous?

yes i get frustrated by the campsite but do i want it to change? i’ve got mixed feelings, but i do have a strong hate for rng and card games.

I have maybe had 3 visitors in my campsite and I have been playing since the day the game came out.

If I didn't have amiibo cards, I would be incredibly frustrated

While I have managed to get a camper to move in, it’s a pain. I had Vivian in my camp recently and I wanted her. I tried so hard to get her to name Chief. By the time I got her to even agree to move in she would name someone I wanted to keep every. Single. time. Bianca was the one mentioned the most and she was my most recent move in. I ended up putting my switch away for the night( to avoid throwing it across the room) No vivian😞

It's weird some people get them a lot and other people (like me... -__- ) never really get them at all.
My friend said she gets campers all the time :/

On a slightly different, but still campsite related, note... I wish campers would move about the island and interact with villagers. Maybe they could even act like tourists, taking pictures and looking at little maps.

It can take a long time to convince a villager to move in and for them to choose the right person to kick out, but if it's a villager you really love then it's worth the time! It's essentially "free" compared to NM islands and buying villagers from other users. I've only taken three random campsite villagers (Bunnie, Raymond and Alice. Bunnie is the only one I've kept) since the game started, so the odds aren't always so great...

it is rare. for anyone saying it's more frequent than acnl, have you played acnl recently? because i still play it from time to time and i've gotten campsite visitors 4 days after one another. it was more frequent before, but i think they compensated with the ability to move someone out when you have a camper, as we can't before. so it's like balanced anyway. it is what it is.

would be so cute!

yeah. i just put it in my mindset that at least this is actually possible. i've been playing new leaf again and it was essentially useless to get a camper when your town is full. i've come across dreamies as well :( lol i got used to checking the camper in new horizons because we have the ability to move them in, but now i remember i used to avoid it in new leaf when my town is full because i'd just feel awful

I thought you got to decide who they replace like you do with amiibo's.

If not, that really sucks.

Who would invite anyone to move in knowing they could lose a villager they care about?

The more I hear things like this the closer I come to giving up.
