Blue dot

Okay so on the home screen of my 3DS, there is a sky-blue-colored circle in the lower right corner of the ACNL icon. I know the green one means you passed someone via streetpass... but what does the blue mean? Do I need to update my game?

I've noticed this for a while and finally got around to asking what it meant. I assume its to update my game but I'd like to know for sure.

You're right, it means there is an update available, which you can access from the AC:NL menu.

Do the updates really even make a change? I never notice anything when I update my game...

They can also mean that someone has visited your dream town, or that Pete has a letter/item from Nintendo.

I've never had updates that actually seem to do anything, so they might be bug fixes or something small like that.

I've never updated my game xD Not once in the two years I've had it.

I'm gonna up-date both of mine now. I can't remember when i did it last. Dunno if it'll change anything but what the hey, no harm right?

I haven't updated mine yet either, I wasn't sure if there was any point to it? I would have done it but I was busy at the time with tting a villager out and then forgot all about it after....will do it tomorrow now, not sure what difference it makes?

Huh...I never knew that blue dot meant anything. To be honest, a good chunk of the time I forget if it's even there all the time or not. I never pay enough attention and I *just* realized that it's not always there.
