Birds in ACNL

So, there are bird villagers in ACNL. Seems pretty normal right? But there are regular birds too, like the one that appears on the bulletin board. What would that be called in the Animal Crossing world? Or are the bird villagers different? Post your opinions here XD I just found this strange in my weird little mind.
Also another question, is there, like actual animals in the Animal Crossing world?

Yeah it's weird, but it's just part of the thinking that the villagers are anthropomorphic and those other incidental creatures are just regular little animals as we experience as humans & villagers ahah. I know there is a cow skull ornament so that's a bit odd too It just reminds me of cartoons where you would have animals as the main character, then they'd go horse riding on dumb ole regular animal horses (I'm looking at you, Arthur!)

What comes to mind is the show LEGO Legends of Chima, where the animals are anthropomorphic because they drank from the CHI water, and there are some "legend beasts" that stayed in their original state because they decided not to drink from it...

Maybe the evolution was voluntary?

I always found it kind of weird that the villagers were animals, and then there were...other animals in the game. Like how there are frog villagers but also frogs (aren't there?) and the birds too.

Well, there is an owl on the board, and blathers is also an owl. Maybe they haven't evolved... I mean, animal crossibg characters are like..mutants, right? So maybe the regular animals are just..not there yet? It is kind of creepy when you think about it. Also, the dog house item shows a dog growling, but Shampoodle is fully capable of speech and emotion. Animal crossing villagers also fish, catch bugs, and keep other animals as pets. Maybe it's like..the normal animals are slaves to them, like they overcame them and made them do jobs like sit on the post when there's a message? It sounds dark...also, maybe the REAL animals pitch the tent and things like that.....0.0;

Lol, this thread is too funny. I'd never really given the birds much thought. But I did always think it was weird that the villagers kept pets when they themselves are animals.
