Between New Leaf and New Horizons, which game had better music?

I personally prefer New Leaf's OST over New Horizons.

TBH. New Leaf. While New Horizons is nice, the only ones that are memorable to me are: 12pm and 5pm. That's it.

I think I like New Horizons more overall. It’s weird though because New Leaf’s tracks I think are all good, but the best tracks of New Horizons are way better and the worst tracks are way worse. That being said, I think New Horizons has way more hits than misses.

If this were New Horizons vs. Wild World/City Folk then it would be a different story. (Love WW/CF soundtrack most of all)

New Horizons is just the same **** remixed slightly every hour.
"Oh a new hour, let's play the exact same turd, but speed it up slightly"

I don't know what they were thinking, I can't even play with sounds on, the music is god awful.

All previous titles had amazing hourly music, New Leaf being my favorite.

Absolutely NL for me. I miss the melancholy tracks like 7PM, 8PM, 11PM, 1AM etc. but I can see why some people don't miss these tracks.
Sometimes I play NL/WW music and put my ACNH game on mute lol

I know I say I don't like NH music in literally all these threads so I'll put it in a spoiler but I HATE the NH music so much, I have never been so fast to get annoyed at a soundtrack before NH but now I'm playing the game less at hours I don't like (which is quite a lot of them...). I miss the old soundtracks so much. I don't even mind tropical themes, I love Mario Sunshine's tracks but the weird choice of instruments in NH puts me off so much.

New horizons music is the same motif played slightly different every hour which seems lazy and is actually somewhat irritating for me to listen to. New leaf had a lot of different ideas in its hourly music, unlike new horizons, so it was much more refreshing to listen to.

i miss NL music so bad. 10 am was my favorite and the rain variations were so nice and something i looked forward to when it was dreary and rainy in game.

New Leaf for sure, every piece felt special and unique but when I listen to music like 3am with New Horizons it just doesn't have this soothing melody that New Leaf had. Which is what I think a lot of the music lacks, it doesn't soothe the nerves or held the player set the mood, its just extra sound

New Leaf 100%. A lot of the New Horizons songs seem timeless to me. Like, I can’t imagine having them stuck in my head, and really, can barely remember what they sound like when I’m not listening to them. Like, I enjoy the 12pm and 5pm tracks when I hear them in game, but I can’t really picture what they sound like at this moment. With my favorite tracks in New Leaf, I can hear them in my mind straight away. Especially 7 pm, 1 pm, and 11 pm.

Can they please update the music someday? Somehow? I don’t even play with sound anymore bc the music is SO REPETITIVE. They took a leap back from New Leaf, I may not have liked every track but I did appreciate the variety. All of the budget went into the graphics and the museum. The writing and music took a huge cut.

New Leaf because I love slower melodic music especially at night when the music starts becoming a more emotional and quieter type of sound. New Horizons, while does have some nice tracks like 12PM and 5PM/AM, the loose and carefree jazz just isn't my taste.

Definitely have to say New Leaf, the music was just so cheery during the day and afternoon and every hour was unique - I feel like New Horizons hourly music sounds really similar especially toward the end of the day
