Unpopular opinion I think, but I'm disappointed that the AC series never used these beta trees from ACNL:

The new design was really refreshing, and I loved the unique shape of the trees and being able to even see the branches. The fruit being so spread out looked a little strange though, but I like the more realistic look here.
But then they just changed it back to the normal ones we see ingame! Even ACNH just used the classic trees.
I get that the trees are iconic in AC. But I just really wish they added variants like these alongside to change up the landscape.
Ahh, glad I'm not the only one. I was never really a fan of the standard trees we have now lol, so when I saw these I was excited. I can still remember my disappointment when they reverted back to the old style
I don't mind the simple look, although I kinda wish they would have stick with the 2010 design (the 2011 one looks a bit odd to me, idk why).
I'm kinda surprised they didn't use a more detailed design like the beta ones have for the regular/fruit trees in NH and just continued with the simple style.
If the clusters of leaves were a bit bigger but still showed the branches underneath I would definitely prefer these versions but since they're so small they make the whole tree look too flat and unnatural.
I don't really like how those look either, I think the ones we actually got in game look better. I do wish we could have some more tree variety in any animal crossing game though
I kind of like how they have a more "full" feeling to them. They look big and leafy, as opposed to... I don't know, like a prop for a video game.
I echo the sentiments that more tree variety in general would be nice. Particularly since they only give you one per day in the shop, it would be nice if there was a more regular rotation. It would be nicer than walking into the shop everyday and thinking "Oh, I sure do hope they have literally the only other variety of tree in the game. Oh, drat. They don't."
The trees look cool but I think they're a bit odd, the empty space in the middle looks kind of weird to me and the fruits look a bit uneven in my opinion.
i love the 2010 ones... 2011 feels like a weird midway point between 2010 and the ones we got. like animorphing back to traditional animal crossing LOL
But actually yeah I never considered more types of trees being a thing just for aesthetic
That would be nice, maybe they could add that in a NH update (though I am not holding my breath haha)
