I'm not sure how I feel about Beau and Erik's houses in this game and almost think I prefer the default lazy house over their real interiors. What do you think? Out of the two real interiors I like Beau's best, but I don't really love the whole outdoor themed interiors (except some of the fall/mushroom ones). I wish one of them had the cabin themed furniture. I also think the default lazy house would fit in better with a forest theme.
I way prefer their original. I don’t need realistic houses and I like the creative avenue Nintendo took with villager houses (most of them, that is) in this game.
I think Beau’s interior is cute but not really a fan of Erik’s. The log cabin, lazy default theme fits him much better I think. I had him in NL actually and his house was essentially a log cabin.
I honestly think both of their houses are adorable. I actually especially like Erik's! Both houses feel like their ideal living conditions and that makes me happy.
Thank you for this thread, I know it's old but I was wondering this. I was so confused why other people's Erik looked different, my Erik has the lazy villager house and I thought that was just his house because it's really cute and suits him suuuper well, I like it much better than his 'real' interior
Both houses are really good in my opinion, but Beau's wins out for me. The Meadow Vista is just too pretty, and the little picnic scene he has going on is cute. That said, going strictly on character designs, I prefer Erik.
Not really fond of the starter house personally, but if you decide on that one though, I'd go for Erik because it seems like he'd fit the look of that house better.
Does Erik's house really look that barren? I'm not a fan of the dirt flooring in the starter lazy house. I wish they would put up gifted wallpaper and flooring. Their house interiors were not data locked in NL and I doubt they are in this game. Some pointless restrictions really annoy me.
I had Erik in his basic house for a long time- I actually really preferred it to his "normal" house! He seems like he should have a log cabin. But I also tend to not like when houses... don't look like actual houses. I'll put up with it, and a lot are cute, but it bugs me a little.
I currently have Merry in the basic Peppy starter house and I actually prefer it for her, too! Her actual house has like... no pink. And that doesn't seem right
I actually kinda like Erik’s house though I think he needs more furniture. Beau has some nice furniture but it looks like they just picked some random furniture and threw it in there. It bothers me how some house interiors there looks like little effort was put into either or both the furniture and overall design while others look like more effort was put into them.It wouldn’t bother me as much if they let us have some option to decorate or rearrange their furniture.
I really like the default lazy house for Erik. I feel that it just fits him so well due to its cabin aesthetic. Erik is the only “starting” villager I still have because I don’t really mind his interior, plus he’s a dreamie .

the starter house is actually kind of nice imo! i’m not obsessed with beau’s interior but tbh, erik’s is incredibly lacklustre - an ice theme suits him well but his house just looks so empty. it’d probably look a lot better with a few more pieces of furniture aha. while beau’s interior suits him imo, erik would definitely probably be better off with the starter interior ;;
I'm tempted to let Erik go because of his house. I hold on to him with the hope that we'll one day get Happy Home and I can make him his New Leaf house.
I really like their original houses as they feel more unique and individualized compared to the starter lazy interior, but I agree however, that Erik's house in NL is way better and more homey than his house now, I feel like if they mixed some wood in his house then I think it'll look better than a full ice set? But idk, hopefully we'll be able to manipulate their houses in the future updates... I really like Beau's interior, but where does he sleep? Poor Beau has to settle with the sleeping bag in his own home, I like the NH interiors but sometimes it just doesn't feel like "home" and more like a set for some roleplay of some sort...
