Basement Ideas

The basement of my house is currently not being used for anything. I have an overall design plan for my house for every room except the basement. I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you did/are doing with your basements so that I can generate some ideas. Thanks In advance.

I have a fruit furniture, dessert cafe in the basement of my favorite villager town.... and its like a dig site in the basement of my rustic/medieval type town.... but the basement is nice because I feel like it should be a special, almost secret/guilty pleasure type room

In one of my basements, I set up a black&white themed kind of video game/hangout/band area (it's cooler than it sounds). In another house, I have the house themed as a store and I use the basement as a storage themed area for the store (so it has the cardboard items and such).


I think a garage-band basement theme would be awesome too.

i use my basement as a fish room. basically i display every rare fish ive caught.

My basement is a green room. Basically I have some items of the green set and put flowers, plants, axes etc. I don't have a picture unfortunately.

I want my houses to look like someone actually lives there, so my basement was the laundry, bathroom and toilet. I used screens to make it look like three small rooms instead of one big one.

For a while I had mine as like a Halloween basement, seeing as basements are usually known as like dark and frightening places.
I had the creepy set and spooky set in there along with the plate armour, witches hat and gown, black veil and samurai suit.
It suited it really well but I've changed the theme challenge now so I've got it as like a fairytale room. I've put princess furniture, a few zodiac pieces, villager pictures and I have stale cupcakes playing in the background

My rooms all have color themes. In my mayor's house I have a pink themed main room, purple and black right room, blue back room, brown left room, red and gold upstairs, and a green basement.

My basement has the green series customized with emerald and deep blue tees (for the bedspread, tablecloth, and cushions in the chairs) and for the wall and floor, I did the meadow vista wall and the wildflower floor. I also lined the left and right walls with potted ivies, and put a few plants in the room :3 I really like how it looks.

You could maybe do a game room or an arcade. I turned my basement into a 7 Eleven.

My basement pretty much just has the Gracie series in it. It's not too exciting, but I do still think it looks nice.

Right now all 3 of my basements are being used for storage rooms. Lainey's is all the extra DLC I'm selling, Chris' is all the sloppy & cardboard I'm selling & Michele's is extra clothing that won't fit in her drawers.

Maybe when I'm done selling stuff, I'll use them for something, but I don't know.

My basement in my mayors house has a lot of the creepy series and other creepy stuff. The basements in my other houses don't really have anything in them yet. I'm thinking of doing a scifi theme with one of them and maybe some sort of desert theme with the other.
