My paths are straight near the entrance, but once you leave the entrance area they get all curvy. I use a variant of The Path which I think looks way better with bends in it. And even then I really don't like the way my entrance looks with the straight paths either tbh

Straight. I've aimed to create the feel of old Gameboy titles on my island, and if you're old enough to have owned one then you'll know how straight paths feed into that!

My island is made up of mostly straight paths. I like clean and simple layouts. :)

I did both! On my switch lite the paths are all straight and organized. On my new switch I made the paths more organic. I think the straighter paths are easier to follow but the twisting more organic paths look nicer with many of the natural style houses and decor.

I used to have straight dirt paths all around my island but I recently switched them out for a curvy custom path. I'm liking the creativity that comes with laying down custom paths!

Mine are straight, but also mostly in the center of town and out to my house. 2/3 or so has no paths at all. It’s pretty impossibly to make the in-game paths curve or meander nicely.

i like to make the stone paths - the 'official' paths i use - to be straight. and then the custom dirt paths i use go literally all over, because they're supposed to be more natural.

i like the dynamic of the two, honestly. it makes me feel like my town has some 'concrete' (no pun intended) areas of travel so it isn't a completely unruly and overrun with nature. i think it gives my island a good mix between the outdoors-y look i wanted and an established look that a village on an island might have.

It varies! The main roads are primarily straight, but I have some winding paths in the more natural areas.

I was actually considering redoing my upper forest area with more natural paths... but I have yet to figure out how I want to arrange it. Even my natural, unplanned looking areas are actually carefully planned 😝

That's pretty much how I feel, too! I use a version of "the path" to make the meandering, natural paths. I love how it looks, but it would be weird to use for my mainstreet area!

I use almost exclusively windy dirt paths on my island, there are a couple of areas (like the shopping plaza or the area around the museum) that have some more structured cobblestone areas but for the most part I don't really like the straight 90 degree angle paths in the game and I don't have any on my island except for in garden beds

Organized would be the best way to describe my paths. I don't like when paths are confusing! I like to use the dirt paths and trees, flowers, bushes, mushrooms to make it feel more natural

I have both, I think! The path on the lower half of my town is a straight with regular turns in it and then on the upper half of my town I have a stepping stone style path so it’s a little more curvy with its turns 🥰

while i’d love to give more natural pathways a chance one day, i currently have straight and organized ones, which i like!

I used to have all straight paths and a more urbanized island but I reset and now I have a more natural island so the paths are all curvy.

Mine are all straight. I used to just have my paths be horizontal or vertical, but then I realized my island looked too boxy, so now I figured out a way for the default paths to be diagonal (but still straight I guess) and not look ugly.

All mine I straight, I did them early on and then decorated around them.

Mine are all straight. My island is a giant resort so straight paths are a given. Visitors shouldn't get lost or they might want refunds... I use the official stone path so it doesn't erased as easily like with the custom paths. The stone is natural yet also gives an urbane feel.
