Are you not able to purchase the Switch 2?

I never planned on getting the switch 2, because it's damn near expensive for just games and console, also really hate the basic design switch. If it had some sort of etched pattern on the switch, it would look better but naw. If they get a better design or editioned one in the very distant future and once more games come out that I want.

I got my switch in 2021, new so it's still in it's prime form now. I also dont see any need to transfer my games onto another console, because my games work well on this switch. I'm lucky to say, I don't have much lag problems or stuff like that. A slight drift in one controller, but I tackled that with buying a controller that I can use on switch, and PC.

It would be cool to make new islands by playing NH on switch 2, but currently, I am using another switch - a friend's - to do just that. And there aren't as many things on switch 2 that makes me wanna save up for one. For NH the only changes were the loading screen being quite short, and depends on certain places, but the lag isnt much felt. But it still has some background areas disappear and come back when you get closer to the items.

I am even planning to preorder the Legends Z-A for the normal switch 1.

I've asked my parents to pay me back since I've helped them out a few years back, but trying to get one for retail price will be the hard part. I've clearly decided too late. It's not so much as the console that I feel is expensive, it's the games and controllers which honestly is absurd.

Oh, I know a lot of people have said they can't afford the current price but don't cave into the scalpers. Especially when they are selling this stuff for twice as much. It looks like people are actually buying it from them too.

It's less unable and more I don't feel like upgrading. My OLED is perfectly fine and the only games I'm interested in are Mariokart, Cyberpunk and Bravely Default. It's backwards compatible yeah but if I'm mostly playing Switch 1 games I might as well keep my current Switch. Talk to me when Baldur's Gate III and the Oblivion remaster are available on it

Nope, too expensive for me. I don't think I'll be buying one anyways, at least any time soon. I've been playing my Switch a lot recently so I'll be good with this one for the next couple of years. I'm really looking forward to Tomodachi Life 2 next year but I'm assuming that'll obviously be compatible with all Switch consoles (it better be lol-)

Anyways hope people who managed to snag a Switch 2 today have fun with it at least! I wouldn't feel too bad about not having one, especially if money is tight.
I don’t think support or new games for the Switch will be discontinued for another three to four years. It may even still be getting games ten years from now. We all thought that the Wii was finished getting new games when Just Dance randomly released a version for the console a few years back.

The only Switch 2 exclusive I’m currently interested in is the Kirby and the Forgotten Land DLC and GameCube Online. I just really really want to play Wind Walker but I don’t have the money to buy the Switch 2 plus it seems ridiculous that WW is the only game not on the Switch that I want to play. I’ve never been a huge Mario Kart fan and while the game looks interesting and fun, I’m just not that drawn to it. I hate purchasing digital games and then finding out that I just don’t like them. The South Park games Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole plus their DLC are just two examples as I also bought several shovelware games dirt cheap that are also not very fun to play.

While I have an income, I think it's in my best interest to not buy the Switch 2. It's way too expensive for me to wanna justify spending so much money. My dad is planning on buying a Switch 2 however, so we agreed that I could borrow it. I'll buy Tomodachi Life once that releases since that's the only game I'm interested in.

I also have an income and it is better that I wait to buy a Switch 2. Who knows? Maybe in the fall a new console and game bundle will be available. I just don’t want to buy Mario Kart World.

Yeah, I think i'll pass on the Switch 2 myself for maybe a year or two. Hope for a price cut. My Switch Lite I bought in 2019 is fine, and so is my 2DS. Both having huge backlogs, it feels unnecessary at this time. *sigh*

I’m halfway saving enough money to buy a Switch 2. By September or October I will be able to purchase it but part of me wants to wait until November to see if there are any Black Friday deals happening but then again the store having such a deal could easily sell out before I can get to the store. I’m definitely going to get it at GameStop and use my reward points to lower the price and maybe get an eShop card to purchase the Switch 2 DLC for Kirby and the Forgotten Land and also enough to pay off the preorder of Legends ZA from the eShop. I’m definitely not getting the Mario Kart World bundle as I’m not really a racing game fan.

I could def afford one, just not interested. I don't play video games that often. Haven't played anything in months.

The only reason I even have a Switch is because my bf got it for me for my birthday two years ago. I didn't even ask for one lol.

I'm not at all interested in getting one, but even if I wanted one, yea it'd be kinda hard for me to afford it. I only work part-time and I have bills to worry about, which is arguably more important than buying a Switch 2 😅 I'd like to upgrade to a Switch OLED and I can't even do that rn lol

I don't think I'm gonna get the Switch 2 any time soon. At this rate, I'd rather start saving for a potential Switch 2 OLED if they release one in a few years, by that time I'll be ready at how expensive it is and perhaps there will be more games worth having on that console.

Video Games are my coping mechanism. I'll be bluntly honest about that. So I did buy a switch 2, but I didn't buy it at launch. I bought it a few days ago, actually. Right now, the only games I have on it are AC, which I started a new Island, My Sims Bundle and the Mario Kart game, and Palia - though I play that mainly on my PC x.x I don't usually buy at launch and normally I wait awhile. I bought it with affirm though, because I like having something on there that I pay off to increase/build spending power. So I didn't pay for it all at once. I honestly really just wanted it for when the new Pokemon games come out (and AC, whenever that may be x.x)

i can't afford one, i think the price tag is incredibly expensive and i struggle to justify a price tag like that, although admittedly i haven't done a ton of research into the specs. to me it is hard to imagine it is on par with my xbox series x, which cost me...the same amount of money.
i'm also not super impressed with the launch titles, but to be fair i don't play a ton of nintendo. the nintendo games i do play i have poured hundreds of hours into them, but i really stick to the zelda franchise and animal crossing with a couple other games thrown in there.

i didn't see any need for the switch 2. i probably won't buy one at all unless they release twilight princess for it, and only if they do a hard release of the HD version instead of just throwing a gamecube port into their subscription service. i definitely can't afford one right now, so if i end up buying one it'll be a long time lol. you aren't alone! the price tag is very prohibitive to a lot of people i think.
