i'm not necessarily holding off on decorating but i am taking my sweet time on certain sections knowing i may have to add stuff in later, i'm only about 25% finished my island. in saying that though, i don't mind recreating certain parts of my island if new updates are released so i wouldn't ever hold off on decorating just for the sake of it
There are a few areas on my island where I know I'll have space for new buildings, but at the moment I'm decorating them however I want knowing that I can just tear it down and redo it once the updates are out!
Well I wasn’t before. I had everything pretty much set, but during the weekend, I decided to completely redo my island. Now I’m slightly holding off until the update trailer. Depending on if we get the dream suite or a cafe, I have certain plans. If we get no building, then I have a different set up I can use. So I’m in limbo here just waiting. At least when people fly over, the only see the nice part of my island. The whole middle part is a mess. Right now I only like my top most area and bottom area, the middle I’m waiting.
I decided to wait off until a trailer just because I have to move most of my buildings around. 4-5 buildings. So I rather not move then and then move them again so soon after.
We don't have a set plan for our island, so we're already just adding and removing things all the time and because of that new updates would probably just fit in to what we're already doing.
a bit. i’m mainly putting off decorating since i’m lazy and have no energy LMAO but i’ve been avoiding certain areas in case new buildings get added like the roost or dream suite ;;
I’m waiting for future updates to decorate my house since the smaller size ruins and furniture choice messed up my plans. There’s a chance my plans will change anyways once there’s more furniture, but right now, I have no clue how I want to decorate my house or other areas of my island. Some parts of my island are close to being finish but I’m missing items and I have tried to substitute some when I could.
Yes. I actually have a lot of areas on my island that I have no idea what to do with. I could always do what everyone else has been doing just to get the space filled but it feels cheap and I want a unique island that doesn't reuse ideas. But it's really hard to do so when we have little stuff atm and potential new furniture in the future.
My shopping area, which basically has all the shops, is also on hiatus because I have no idea how many potential shops they could add in. I basically only have space set up for Brewster b/c I don't think we're getting anymore other than him but the speculation drives me insane. It's also so kinda annoying seeing it be unfinished just b/c of ONE potential shop. It's my own fault but doesn't mean I can't be annoyed with it.
Yes and no, I suppose? Can't say that I am really putting off anything, as most of my focus is on the residential area. My residential area is in the back of my island, while the front is dedicated to the Resident Services building and the various business currently available. There is still room set aside for future buildings that may be forthcoming, so I don't worry about it.
I haven't though about it in this angle! Half of my island is still incomplete bc I have no idea how to construct it, but I definitely am leaving some areas in the "finished parts" rather open because I'm still thinking of what to put in those areas. In the event we do get some sort of cafe or other buildings, my island is open to adjust to them! Esp the cafe, I have a rather spacious cafe area that a cafe building would fit perfectly in <3
I'm not letting the possibility of new buildings stop me from working on my island, but I'm also working very slowly so I will likely be able to accommodate when new features do come out.
I honestly feel like waiting is the smart thing to do, but I can't stand anything being unfinished. So I constantly go against common sense and find ways to make my island look "finished."
I'm not too worried when it comes to furniture, but the possibility of new buildings does put me off unfortunately. I don't just want to dump new shops wherever I happen to have space.
I definitely worry about this often. I worry that I spend so much time trying to perfect an area of my island but what if in the future I want to change it because of new items or seasonal items I have yet to obtain? Makes it feel like all of that hard work will be for nothing :/
