Are you concerned the new game will focus on online too much?

Not getting into the ins and outs of whether online is worth it at all here, is anyone else concerned that in an attempt to push the service, too much of AC will be focused on online? There are so many ideas floating around about what could be done online that I'm a little bit worried about how the game will hold up after online inevitably disappears years down the line. Of course I trust Nintendo to make the single-player experience just as excellent, but it sounds like a lot of people are expecting a really huge host of online features. Not a bad thing for the here and now, of course. Just wondering what your stance might be.

I don't really get how it could be more online focused than it already is?

To me visiting other towns and playing mini-games at Tortimer's Island is amazing online support already.

Also keep in mind that literally all online features are available for single-player and offline as well

Why would you worry about that? The game is already focussing on it's online capabilities. Everyone will get the online service anyway for Smash or Mario Kart, I'll get it for Animal Crossing. It's only 20 bucks for a year.

The only fear I have is that there will be less of a focus on the single player experience. But of course if everything is alright in that area there'll be no problem at all. :) It's just that I would like the game to hold up as something to play on your own after the online service is no longer active, years down the line. :)

Yes, extremely... I don't have internet except for on my phone...

I use my phone as a hotspot if I need to, but it often doesn't work very well and will kick me off... I played New Leaf for 3 years without using the internet at all and did very well. I don't want to need the internet to play this game.

I'm not that concerned that they focus on online too much. I guess they will focus on it
as much as they did back in New Leaf.

honestly, I'm just excited that online is coming back! After playing pocket camp for awhile that's one of the biggest things I miss.
Online play has always been such a huge aspect of these games and one of the main draws to keep you playing

i feel like they won't depend heavily on online stuff tbh

im only worried about pocket camp making people have an advantage

I don't really like online play, so I'd feel like I was missing out if they focus too heavily on it, or have items locked behind online play.

The game will probably have the Dream Suite return but other than that I seriously doubt it.
