According to Whitney, Diva is my resident Uchi boy!

?You can thank Diva for this shirt, he gifted it to me!
No wait don?t thank him!?

I was shocked reading the dialogue, I?ve never had a villager miss gender another villager before!
I know for a fact Diva is a girl based on her wiki, the fact that she?s an Uchi, and also like every other dialogue I?ve ever had surrounding her. She?s definitely a girls girl.
But this gave me a little chuckle!

Have you guys ever had this happen?

I never had this happen no. Also might be because I honestly never really bothered reading all the dialogue carefully. That's funny though

What I've noticed is the player characters getting misgendered. Dora moved in from my friend's town and she occasionally tells me about her old neighbors but refers to them as male even though all of my friend's player characters are female. Dora is not even an Uchi villager, so I don't know what's going on there.

I've also noticed that when the non-mayor characters get the letter about the town's anniversary, the gender it refers to the mayor as will match that of who the letter was mailed to. This is a really weird mistake.

I think it has to do with the translation from the original language. I have no idea how japanese works but Uchi villagers propably are refered to with male pronouns since they're supposed to be tomboys. Maybe a native speaker will know the reason.

OP is talking about the frog, Diva.

Diva is a drag queen pass it on Oh yeah, my animals would misgender not only other animals but the mayor from the other town they came from. I think they called my one character a boy in their face, I'm not sure. I mean, yeah that character dressed boy-ish at times but still.

I want to know why it isn't the other way around, why don't they call boy animals and boy characters a girl or girly. Maybe if I dress my only boy character in a dress, they'll call him girly B) Aw, poor Soren for being the literal only guy character I have.

I experienced this with Tipper misidentifying Tangy's gender, with snooty and peppy personality respectively. I've only had it happen between them, so it must be some sort of dialogue specific error.

Yes, I've seen my uchi villagers misgendered by the other villagers (especially the snooty villagers).

From the Animal Crossing Wiki:
Even though all uchi villagers are female, other villagers may sometimes refer to them using male pronouns.

Wait whaaaaat ? :O I rarely have uchi villagers but I'll have to pay attention. That's kind of a weird mechanic? Not sure I like that? Are the snooty villagers making fun of them for being .. uchi.?? ....

Ah, a translation thing. I should've just kept reading lol

Yes!! This has happened to me, someone in my village kept calling Tangy a boy and said things like ?please go bring this to him!? And I kept looking it up and for sure Tangy is a girl , but.. I kinda like that the personality types could be on different genders? Some of the animals that were actually girls I thought were boys anyways and I didn?t really think about it until other villagers called them he/she
