Sadly blue roses went from being this amazing rose to something you can find on the retail in five minutes...
I feel I am one of the only who have actually breeded them...(I knew some others on the Japanese version that did but -okay this is getting off-topic.)
Anyone want to share stories on there BREEDED blue roses?
I bred them from scratch. It took me a few months of absolutely nothing (tons of extra Hybrid Reds and Blacks and Oranges), at which point I decided to scrap everything and start again from square one and bred brand new Hybrid Reds since I was starting to think that maybe the Hybrid Reds I had for some reason weren't Hybrid Reds (even though I knew I bred them properly and made sure that villagers didn't plant anything there). It then took me another month or so before I got a single Blue Rose, and then a week or so before I got a second Blue Rose. No fertilizer either.
Then I ended up drowning in Blue Roses. I have so many now...
I tried breeding them but I kept losing track of which reds were hybrid reds and even when I could get it straight they'd just make more reds so I bought the blues idc haha
I have. The time it's happened it's been mainly by accident since I just dump random flowers together but I've also bred them a couple of times on purpose. It takes some time but it's possible.
I'm using the beach on both of my games to try to breed blue roses. Had no luck for months on end, and just a few days ago when I finally gave up and would've bought some if it wasn't for wifi issues, I woke up the next day and on my main town I had bred a blue rose :O
Couldn't believe it, so I won't buy any now I've managed one, it'll just be breeding the second one which will be hard i think..
I'm breading them from scratch on the beach.I haven't made blue roses yet but I did manage to make Black roses by accident.I like to try to do things myself instead of admittedly going for help.I like to make my own hybrids despite some taking a while to make.
I actually went back and looked through all the records I kept of my Blue Rose breeding. I think I ended up getting fertilizer at the tail end of my hybrid breeding since my Emporium opened, but even with it, it still took a few weeks for everything to be over.
I started breeding for Blue Roses around July. I decided to scrap everything in September to breed for some new Hybrid Reds. I got my first Blue Rose at the end of October, and then got a second Blue Rose about a week later in November. I also kept the rejects that resulted from the Hybrid Red plots. This second round of Blue Rose breeding resulted in 31 Black Roses, 14 Orange Roses, 1 Purple Rose, and 44 other Hybrid Red Roses. That doesn't include the rejects from round one.
Edit: And that was all real-time. No time traveling, haha.
I've been trying to breed them since March and I too have had to scrap them all and make new hybrid reds just in case. It took about a month and a half but I did finally get one blue rose and since then I've been patiently waiting and watering in hopes for one more. Hopefully once I have the two I'll start getting them more often because there is a section of my town that would look perfect with a patch of blue roses!
I've bred every type of hybrid, except white carnations (I kinda just broke down and bought a couple to breed), from scratch. I started the game when it was released and got my 2nd blue rose in January (see spoiler), after that I was able to breed more. Now I'm going to try and breed them from scratch again in my 2nd town
I was trying to breed them but then Tex moved on top of my Hybrid Red roses and I was too lazy to try again since he was finally in a good spot. So I just bought two blue roses and bred them.
I never was able to get them.. I never understood whole thing xD I just bought a bunch of blue roses from someone and started breeding more and more until I had my town full of them. Same thing was with purple pansies..
