I've never had a full dream list in New Leaf or any of the previous ACs, but this time I'm actually kinda worried about it. I see cute images of villagers in people's islands and I'm like "Aww, I want them on my island!" But then I'm like...worried I'll like them TOO much and want them to stay? And it sounds dumb, being afraid of LIKING a villager, but if I want to keep everyone, then I'll never get to meet different villagers again! So I'm only keeping 4: Teddy, Tutu, Rolf & Mitzi. I think 6 slots is more than enough to meet a nice cycle of villagers, but like...I'm worried that day will come when I'll have a full 10. It's goofy but I was wondering if anyone felt similarly~

Me too! Skye, Julian, Diana, and maybe Bones and Bianca are all staying, but everyone else is free to move on as they please. c: Unless I fall in love by surprise again, which is what happened with Skye and Bones.

I don’t have any dreamies, or you can say I only have a few which are my main favorites. I rather depend on the game RNG to get villagers that I’ll end up liking.

I don't have 10 set dreamies, and only a couple are going to be permanent residents. Otherwise, I have been cycling my villagers out in order to meet new ones all the time :)

I was just having this conversation with my friend. The villagers are my favorite part of AC. I wish I could have a second switch where I don't hold on to villagers. They ask to move? I let them move, I don't island hop for good villagers, I let Tom Nook fill the plot. I would also be allowed to recruit from the campsite in this dream scenario. It will never happen as there are no Switch consoles to be found, nor could I justify the cost.

The problem with my current island is I'll never get to experience a variety of islanders!
On my island I have a bunch of dreamies: Tangy, Bob, Dobie, Vivian
And a crew that I really like but with time may be able to let go: Fauna, Molly, Rudy
And a couple that I'm just waiting for them to ask: Julian, Marshal, Sherb

same- i'm keeping some permanently (for now!), but most of them, i'll let cycle through. keeps things fresh! and there are so many villagers to meet c:

i only found out after placing the final plot that you can’t return them when they’re empty! :c a shame, i don’t really love that many villagers and i’d highly prefer space for terraforming and outdoor decor

I plam on cycling my residents amd allowing them to move on in time. Unless In just find one I fall in love with. I am avoiding list making deciding to get to know each one I meet.

The only Villagers I always wanted on my Island or in any Towns are Jacques and Rod. The Rest came later and even if I have a Dreamies List, I think that I might cycle through my entire Villagers (except those two) just to collect enough Photos in the end. 10 Residents are just not enough and I might meet new Favorites.

i came up with a lineup of 10 at first but i ended up getting them pretty quickly and then got bored. now there's a couple i'm gonna keep forever and the rest im gonna let move so i can try new villagers

I wish we could get rid of plots. I think I’d rather have 8 so that I can have 1 of each personality type and not have to deal with repeated dialogue.

same, I was also thinking this but uh I'm broke

I originally wanted 10 Dreamies, but I wanted to have a few cycle plots, so I just got rid of some of my dreamies.

This for me as well. I originally wanted to have my island filled with my 10 most wanted, but I quickly realized I super enjoy hunting islands and cycling out villagers. Now I'm generally sticking to 8 dreamies, and 2 plots to rotate out villagers.

I don't really have a set of dreamies. In New Leaf, I had a set of ten villagers I liked and perpetually kept. This game, I don't think I'll adhere to that. Most of the reason why I decided to keep the same ten villagers was related to plotting reasons (i.e. plotting is a chore, and I like my villagers enough to where having to deal with plots not lining up with paths, flowers, etc. doesn't outweigh the benefit of having a villager I like slightly more).

This game, plots are fixed and you can move them wherever and whenever you want, so my attitude towards having dreamies has changed. At some point, I might develop a set of dreamies, but for now, probably not. I have some villagers that I intend on keeping (e.g. Rosie, Beau), but for the overwhelming majority of my villagers, I'm largely indifferent if they move out.

I didn't have a set of dreamies when I started, but the first 8 villagers I chose ended up becoming my dreamies lol! they really just grew on me, i guess. So, I'll probably have all of them stay and have 2 cycling spots left open for new faces in town c:

I kind of have that feeling too, but I realized that when I let a villager go that I thought I would keep forever but didn't and didn't feel bad about it, I'm pretty laissez-faire about who stays on my island now.
