Anyone else not have dreamies? How do you pick who stays and who goes?

I have villagers I like and don't like, and try to have at least one of each personality, but I don't really have villagers I "must" have or a final idea of who I want on the island.

I'm thinking of keeping villagers until I get their photo (unless I *really* don't like them), then bumping them out within a few weeks or so with amiibo if they don't move out naturally. What are your plans for moving villagers in/out if you don't have specific ones in mind?

I've decided to let them go if they ping. Ideally after they give me their picture. In practice, we'll see. I love Muffy so much it'd be hard to say goodbye. But I also loved Snooty and let her go when she pinged.

I don't have "dreamies," I think the concept is dumb. Oops, no offense meant to those that do! I become really attached to the neighbors that start the game with me. I never want my two starters to leave, and it'll be really hard to let the next three go. Had to let my first camper go, I didn't like him at all. The last two (and the new one moving in today) are all random, and I usually learn to grow a friendship with them rather than love them right away and decide they'll never leave.

While island hopping for my latest, I even passed up a few villagers I've had before and really loved. I just didn't want them. Like, sorry, I've had you before, I wanna make new friends here.
