Anyone else not decorating their island lol?

you’re not the only one. i’ve decorated a bit since march but i haven’t attempted to decorate my island since,, may, i think lmao. i haven’t been playing much recently, anyways, but when i do, i’ve mainly been focusing on trying to decorate my house aha

I absolutely love decorating and terraforming my island. I can see how it isn’t for everyone though! If I’m being honest, I haven’t been fishing, bug catching, etc. for a while now... I’ve been focused designing my island! Once I’ve done a bit more though, I’ll likely go back to the simpler things to enjoy, at least for a little while, before inspiration strikes again

When I finally get my blue roses, I’ll start decorating. I think I’m gonna time travel to speed up the process.

I've decorated, but I've also tried to keep a natural feel to my island. My real focus has been my house, villagers, and the museum. Now that I have those in hand, I'll work on tweaking parts of my island.

I.... have definitely decorated a lot lol. But I feel like I can still appreciate those natural looking islands with few decorations. Sometimes it annoys me how heavily decorated my island is and that now I have to run along certain paths to get anywhere.

I’m trying to decorate the neighbourhood I built at the moment but all I’ve really done so far is laid some custom paths because I’m just too lazy to buy everything I want/would like to place (rip the 5 item limit per day for orders), and I’m still not really sure what theme I want to go for - which applies to not only my neighbourhood, but tbh to my whole island.

I did a lot of terraforming after I unlocked it. It took a month after launch to unlock it. During that month I realized what I desired to change to my island function better. I flattened all of my second level cliff except for one to keep the waterfall.

As for decorations I have barely any outside. I recently used the mannequin method to make a rock garden and I hated having stuff everywhere. Not sure I really want to decorate a large area. Mostly i do a small area here and there.
