Anyone else make a terrible mistake/accident in the game?

So today was the start of diving, as we all know, so I thought I'd do some diving on my way to donate a painting to the museum. Long story short, my pockets were full and I found myself selling everything at Nooks. I guess I wasn't paying attention well enough, but I sold my proper painting I had just paid for (to access Redd on another island) yesterday. I can't tell you how mad at myself I am.

Has anyone else done something similar? Or made any other funny mistakes?! I would love to know I'm not the only idiot who has done this!!!

Yes, I've sold things by accident when my pockets were full, even when I made a mental note to be carefull.
Other thing I have to be careful with is when I'm wrapping presents and gifting them. I have wrapped up stuff I didn't mean to and given out the wrong present.

I know what you mean. I once tried to give a villager a gift and accidentally wrapped and gave her a golden watering can. Not what I wanted, but at least it was replaceable!

Yes, I moved all my rocks to a rock garden (if you know how to move the rocks then you should know that this process takes a very long time). One day I was moving some trees around so I ate a couple of fruits. 10 minutes later I forgot that I hadn't used up all the fruits yet and went to hit my rocks to get materials. Of course the first rock I hit smashed. I panicked for a second but then remembered that if I close my game without saving and it should still be there, and it was so thank god. I think I've also accidentally given the wrong gift to a villager before but I also just shut down the game instantly without saving so he wouldn't wear/display it.

Oh no! I remember how hard it was to move my rocks- that would have been a disaster. Thankfully you had the presence of mind to back out of that! I didn't realize my mistake until way later and I knew I couldn't back out. Oh well!

I ate 10 fruit and destroyed all my rocks on day 1. All of my rocks respawned over the river so iron nuggets were a pain to get.

Everyone I know who plays this game destroyed all their rocks on day one!

The game encourages you to try eating fruit and bashing rocks / trees...without really explaining how you're screwing yourself over once you do that!

I accidentally gave Julian a zigzag dress. He only wore it once and that’s when he had gotten it for the first time. Then haven’t wore it since. Glad he doesn’t. :’)

Everyday is a terrible mistake. That's my play style, lol.

Mine is creating a custom design for a hat and hanging it on the Ables sister wall. Now I get to watch my villagers wear it and I'm taking pics so one day I can show off this stupid hat party mess.

Oh maybe the most embarrassing one was moving my house from its first location to realize it doesn't (or can't) line up with stairs. So I tried to move it an inch or so to the side, realized I can't and moved it back to it's original place to move it back to the final place. I played it cool that I never moved the house at all to my friends but I was angry.

I don't think I could ever top the one I've done in acnl.

Similar thing happened to me with Raymond. I bought him a nice new suitcoat outfit at a friend's island and accidentally gave him this black pearl dress I bought for myself. He only wore it the once, but he looked pretty fabulous! Haha

Lmao I bet he did! Julian looked weird since it was the yellow/orange/red zigzag dress and it didn’t match at all with his color scheme. I guess he felt the same too cause I just looked in his drawer to see if the dress is still there and surprisingly it’s not. I guess he got rid or it! Lol I’m convinced he only wore it so he won’t hurt my feelings although I am glad he did!

It was not too bad to fix but when I was moving villager houses I accidentally was off by a tile and it threw off my neighborhood design :/ cost me an extra 100,000 to fix so I was salty.

I did this not once but twice! It's so maddening and expensive to fix! I'm so glad my neighborhood is finished, even if it's not 100% perfect I just can't take the constant construction, haha!

I time travelled in my first town when I was told not to. (It was to get a cranky villager out of town, because of its singing. And believe me, when a cranky villager sings, its not a good thing to hear)

That's not all, I also restarted my town 3 times. The first time was because I hated how my town looked aaannnddd I was impatient how I had to wait a day to move everything all at once, limiting my terraforming space. I wanted it done now.
The other 2 I prefer not to talk about, they were bad in their own way.
This time I will no longer restart, I put my island starting date to the time where I started playing (Which was March 19th) and i'm going date by date while trying to get the nook miles I need to make it realistic as possible as a normal player that doesn't time travel. When I get back to present date I'll play normally.
