Anyone else like having a mixture of popular and unpopular villagers?

I have Marshal and Whitney, but the rest of my villagers are low tier (Ike, Becky, Annalisa, etc.). I plan on having five "popular" villagers and five other low tiers that I like.

That's my personal taste, I like having a mixture like that. Anyone else have that preference?

Yeah, me too! I plan on having all the villagers in my signature. I just picked villagers that I like, not feeling like I have to have all the popular ones. If everyone has the same villagers, well, where's the fun in that?

Yeah, I have a mixture in my town as well and I enjoy the variety: Whitney, Beau, Lopez, Ruby, Lily, Bunnie, Poncho, Sydney, and Snooty

I like having a mixture of villagers I like and villagers I like. I honestly couldn't care less about their popularity.

i have a few of the new ones like raymond, judy and reneigh because the second i saw them i decided i had to have them aha
i also have julian, stitches and fauna who i noticed are popular
but then i have some others like axel, katt and i'm not sure if rosie is still popular but i love these 3 villagers so much ♡♡♡

I always pick villagers that are my favorites or that I like, I don't really depend on tier or popularity.

Hmmm. I do have a mix of popular and unpopular villagers, but that's not by design at all!

I like my island residents for who they are and how much they make me happy to have them. I look forward to interacting with them every day. I don't care how popular they are or not.

I personally just pick the villagers I like :^) Quite a few of them end up being high tier villager but some arent! (Like Phoebe when I can finally find her...)

I don't think I ever chose a character because he's popular, even tho i ended up with some (lucky, coco, ankha) but mostly because i thought they fitted with my island theme

I just go by favorites and villagers that'd fit my aesthetic. It just so happens that a lot of my favorite villagers are very popular, like Diana, Beau, Julian and Fang, but I'll also have Deirdre and Teddy who are on the unpopular side of things.

I don't base my favorites off of popularity, although some villagers I have and love are popular for a reason - Fang and Beau. But some other villagers that super popular like Judy do nothing for me, so I would never care for them on my island (especially since there are so many Snooty villagers I love).

In reality, I do really like the vast majority of those who are popular, but I also have favorites that are lower like Cleo and Purrl.

Still, I think people would think I overall have a pretty good lineup (or at least I do, and that's all that matters!):

I have some popular characters because I saw them on the island and thought: well I could sell them for millions of NMTs cha-ching! Then they moved in and I just fell in love with them (Bob, Sherb and Ankha) so not planning to sell them anymore. Don't care that they are popular, they earned their right to be on my island.

i have raymond, sherb, lolly, and beau who i know are pretty popular, but then i have cranston ,nana, monty, dobie who i know are a bit lower

i currently have judy as well but i’m getting rid of her

also I feel like I can only really decide whether or not I want a villager on my island when they're already there?
sometime's you're vibing sometimes you're just not, even with villagers who you thought would be your favorite :l

But yes, my villagers tend to be a mix.

Yeah! I have Raymond and Marina, and the rest of my villagers are less popular.

I don't really base which villagers I have off of their popularity! I do have some that are popular, like Fauna, but I don't have them on my island because of that.
I tend to just have villagers because I like their design or they grew on me and I enjoy having them around.
