Anyone else do this kind of thing?

So I noticed that when I play Animal Crossing, I tend to make use of online resources... I mean, miscellaneous sites in addition to pages specifically for Animal Crossing itself. For example: Every time a villager, especially one I really want to stay on good terms with, suddenly decides they want to schedule a visit with me, and the earliest time they're available is, like, 5 hours from now or something, I bring up this real-time clock site on my screen to keep myself reminded and gauge whether I really have time to go to the island to catch sharks or do other errands.

Does anyone else use non-Animal Crossing sites or resources to help them ingame? I figure this thread can serve as sort of a general repository of "use X if you want to Y", and a place where we just, for fun, share what kinds of weird stuff we do out-of-game to smooth out our in-game experience. (I'm half-expecting someone to come in with an all-encompassing equation for how to make the most out of the game, and make me feel stupid, heh)

no, i don't use that a lot. i just go and hope i find them earlier or later than the time. however, i do use notes a lot, at christmas and times when i need to remember a certain order, and i also use websites and search up the technical parts of the game, like what orders they like most at the cafe. i hate being wrong.

I wrote down all of the paintings I need (6 more to go)!
I rely on memory for most of these things, though. Even for Toy Day.

Note-taking, eh? Brings back memories of when I was so obsessed with planning things ahead of time and following my "set in stone" plans to the letter, that I drew a diagram of my house with little handwritten notes about which furniture series, music/CD-players, and gyroid sets would go in each room. Yeah, I have problems (but it is reassuring that I'm not the only one who writes stuff down).

The only one I use is that animal crossing app that helps you keep track of everything you've collected/done in game. I find it much easier to see it all set out like that or written down. I also keep lists on my phone to remind me of villager requests and things like that. I tend to use Thonkys guide on a daily basis too for things like making coffee, birthdays, etc.

Sometimes (who am I kidding I do it all the time) I'll set and alarm for 5 minutes before I'm meant to go to their house or they're meant to come to mine!

I take notes a lot but that's just to keep myself reminded of what I want to do with my town. I time travel a LOT in my town. I usually spend 15 minutes on each day and time travel forward otherwise I get bored really fast. If I'm not time traveling, I'm trying to make deals to buy furniture/landscaping materials, or im plot resetting. If i'm not doing any of those things I'm probably not playing :x

i have an acnl guide app on my phone that i use to keep track of my encyclopedia and museum items haha

I'm more of a paper-and-pen person, so I have a notebook for acnl stuff. Notes on my characters, plans for my town, turnip calculations, etc. And the prima guide for cataloging. The only time I use online resources is for art identification and coffee-making.

I google most of the stuff, but when it comes to Xmas I'll write it on a post-it or something.

I don't bother with hangouts that aren't immediate though, as I'm busy.

LOL. There was a time when I scheduled meetings with my villagers on my phone when I would play acnl on my break. I would schedule a meeting with a time I would arrive home. This works 75% of the time with me. It's pretty funny seeing it too. I should start doing it again. Nowadays, I mostly say no I can't visit them/they can't visit me because I can't dedicate extra time playing.

I do have the customize furniture guide on my bookmarks at the moment since I'm working on my character's houses. I also have the acnl phone app. The only problem is I lose my phone so much and never have the data back-up'd for it that the only thing that I keep track on the app are my villagers birthdays. I used to keep track of everything, but inputting all that data again would take FOREVER. Maybe I'll reinput the information in when I'm extremely bored.
