Anyone else burnt out on time travel?

Time travelling sucks imo and ruins the game. You get everything quicker, get to finish things, get all your villagers, get to do all the events, can get loads of bells off that...

... and then what? You're done, and you find something to hate about your map, and restart.

Playing it for a little bit each day is a much more rewarding experience.

That's what I plan to do when I have 10 villagers I like XD I just can't stand seeing ones I don't like in my village, nor do I want to lay out paths until they're gone and I know where other villagers are going to move in. Everyone enjoys the game a different way remember! I don't like to actually play THROUGH multiple days per day, but like to try to TT villagers out when I'm in the mood for it.

Omg, i feel your pain. What worked for me was tting but still building up my friendship level with my unwanted villager and sort of ignoring my wanted villager in hopes that the game will pick him. Good luck!

This Toy Day business really is intruding on the process of moving out villagers. I almost lost Kiki yesterday because she never pinged me and it wasn't until like an hour into playing that someone finally said to me she was thinking of moving. Saved and quit then reloaded the game just to get that ping and tell her to stay.

Sounds like you should try this method then!

I find having villagers you hate is part of the fun of the game. I remember having Paula and Charlise and loathing seeing them, but at the same time, it was fun, and I was sort of sad to see them go. When you have 10 you like, it gets boring, because then you don't really want to see any of them leave... especially if you reset for where their houses are and they're in a "perfect" spot. The game grows stale and people get bored of it.

I mean, just look at the reset thread, tons of people who had the "perfect" games now all I want their towns gone for one reason or another.

Well, 10 I like doesn't mean I won't let them leave--I like to get pics from villagers I like before I let them leave. So I'll probably have a few spots I cycle constantly anyway! And nah, I'd never ever reset my game :P too much work put into collecting. I've never reset a Pokemon game either, at least not without transferring pokes over. Any save file in a game with 100+ hours on it is way too precious to me.

Well, the middle sentence can happen wether you TT or not. But, opinions will differ from yours. I'm fact, I much prefer TT'ing to playing day by day, as my interest in the game would have went out the door long ago if I played "day by day". Granted, I have started to become bored of TT'ing, but I actually think it's more that I've become bored of AC:NL. After I get my games date back up to real time, I will probably take a break from TT'ing, possibly stopping for good. Idk yet~

I TT'd in my main town to get my dreamies and you know what?
I think that has ruined New Leaf for me or at least for now. I have been thinking about resetting.
The idea of a town that strictly does not TT (not even once) really does appeal to me right now.
Dreamies alone are something that has ruined the game for me. I hate it so much and I wish I didn't do it.

i had the same issue with chadder.. and i used the same method as you, but i ran around town for pinging in addition to talking to two villagers. because as gossipy as they are, sometimes they just don't say anything >.< i'm sorry you're having such a hard time with annoyingly persistent villagers and that you lost one in the process :< though i must admit your post was quite amusing to read :> don't give up! she'll ask to move out eventually!

Not even gonna get in on the TT debate. Play the game whatever way you enjoy, TT or not.

I'm at 10 villagers and I find that 99% of the time I get a ping every 5 days (with a rare ping in between). My usual pattern for actually getting pings is (after going 1day forward to set up the first time) back to the date (1), forward 2 (3), check just in case, forward 2 (5 - check, usually ping), rinse and repeat. Fastest method? Probably not. Might not even be safe. But it's been working for me, and I like it because it doesn't move you around the calendar too much. I've gotten at least 12 pings in the last couple of days and haven't lost anyone.

I don't know if it has been said yet, but that two-day-forward, two-day-back thing? Stop doing that. I don't know why that's become such a well-known method of cycling, because it's terribly risky. Go forward and do not return the date to normal until you evict the desired resident. Every time someone pings to move and you turn them down, jump forward two or three days, check for pings, and move forward by a SINGLE day each time until someone else pings, then repeat. Talk to all of your outside villagers each day to ensure they don't get the "haven't seen you in a week" dialogue overriding the pings.

Most of the time, someone will try to ping before the previous villager's anticipated move date arrives, but it can take longer on occasion. If it's taking too long, save and quit and recheck a few times just to make sure the mover's ping wasn't blocked by someone else's ping somehow.

Also, was Ruby your most recent move-in? The most recent move-in has either no chance or a GREATLY reduced chance to try to move, so you'll need to get someone else in to get her out if so. (People say they've gotten the 10th villager to move before, but I've TTed the equivalent of two years or more and NEVER had the last move-in try to move, so yeah.)

This in kinda irrevalent but I am also trying to TT my ruby out of my town. I also use the exact TT method as you, but with one villagers who i talk to everytime until they start to get annoyed. It's been at least 3 hours with not a single ping from ruby, and in the last hour I started the game with Isabelle telling about Diana, in boxes and ready to go. Ruby is going to be kicked out for sure now.

Do not use that TT method ever again. Seriously.

The method I posted a few pages back and clarified some points on is much faster and easier than trying to get random villagers to ping, though. You'll know exactly who will try to move beforehand. And, if someone has just moved in/moved out, it is definitely safe to skip ahead 3 days ONCE, no one could possibly move out in that time frame if you use this method religiously.

The method I posted doesn't even take but 15 minutes if you're not checking shops/digging spots/etc. Throw those wasted hours and the risk of missing who's supposed to ping away :P
