Anyone else burnt out on time travel?

I don't know if anyone has the answer to this, but if you accidentally load up your mayor and Isabelle gives you the speech about someone moving, can you exit to the home page at that point before you're in your town? Then TT back to a previous day? I'm guessing it probably wouldn't make a difference because the game has already "loaded" the town by that point, but I always wondered...

Sometimes I think my villagers would rather have me move out of the town than them...

which is really depressing because whenever I TT literally no one pings me or talks about someone moving. xdd

No, since that dialogue happens after it saves. If you accidentally load your mayor but haven't gotten to the save yet, I'm pretty sure things will be fine if you reset!

Try this method then! I promise it's much easier than trying to ping everyone in town for days XD

Oh? I always used the game to chance the day/time :O

it's probably faster via the DS? I dunno, it's easier to keep track of what day it is for reset methods like this that way XD just in case you almost make a mistake.

Hopefully if it ever happens by accident, I'll realise what I'm doing before that point. I really hope so anyway! I don't fancy cycling out 16 villagers. xD

I always use the DS clock for the same reasons too. Post it notes are awesome too, because I have a memory like a sieve~

Eughhh, same. Especially if I get to the point where I only have one or two villagers I'd let go...

Ohh, I haven't tried the post it notes. Where are those? (my 3DS is very new, don't laugh at me)

I'm following the method now (in January, and using six days instead) and it feels foolproof. But Ruby is still stubborn.

I just write physical post it notes and stick them in between the screens when I close the DS so I can't miss them. Say, to remember when someone is moving if I know I'm going to put the game down for a while. Or if I need to load as a new character for the reset trick. They really help jog my memory!

I wish the DS had an internal feature like that! Or reminders you could set when you launch a game or something.

To clarify this for slow people like me: I skip 3 days ahead and load with my mayor, save and quit, skip 5 days on my 3DS an start with a new character, check who is gone and exit out without saving, travel the 5 days back and load my mayor?

It sounds pretty cool and I might try this right away to move Kid Cat. :o

It's so tedious when you just have the few villagers you want to leave. I get ridiculously excited when I finally get someone to ping me that I dislike...

Yes, you got it exactly right! (if someone just moved out that is. If they didn't, skip 3 days and start a new character just to make sure no one moves out on you, then save/quit and skip 5 days). By the way, I got a friend to adopt and hold onto a Filbert for me, so I've got him! <3

Someday, Sydney and Goose will try to move.... I just know it. XD P...l...ease...... I'm so tired of looking at them, LOL

Oh, I know... When Rory finally pings me there'll be TEARS. TEARS OF JOY. He was a starter villager. ;_;

Same with Sydney and Goose XD I've only had the game for a month or so, but it's still frusterating having uglies in my town that won't leave >_>

I feel the same. I feel like I can't actually sit and "play" the game until the villagers I want are all there. I know it may seem ridiculous and obsessive to some because the game wasn't necessarily designed like that, but I can't help it. I have to have control. I so wish there was an option or setting to opt in if you wanted to keep certain villagers, or if you could at least choose only certain types of villagers for your town without all this hassle...

Same! I will probably TT next to none once I have a group of villagers I all like. At least until I get pics from ones I'd be willing to let go. There really should be a way to at least convince certain villagers to leave instead of it being all left up to chance XD

I agree. I feel guilty neglecting the villagers I DO like while having to TT. It's so sad when you happen to talk to them after you've been TT for a while. Conversations along the lines of "I haven't spoken to you in over a week" etc etc "I have feelings too"~ ;_;

pls help :(

I didn't log in as my mayor, instead I straight away TT 6 days forward using DS clock, using a new toon, login, and all villagers still around.

So I exit without saving, TT another day forward, making it 7 days in total, login with a new toon again. Yet all of them still around.

What went wrong?

I decided to give up and let Ruby continue to be the shadow dictator of my town. I think she may not have wanted to leave because she was my best remaining friend (with the highest friendship level, most frequent conversations, etc) left in town. That's the only thing that set her apart. I tried kicking her out in January (far away from her birthday) and that didn't work, so I think that factor can be ruled out.

Also, I am taking a super long break from time travelling now. The method in this thread is fantastic, but the pattern I've noticed over time is that tting will solve one problem and start another.

As long as you're TTing safely, I think Beautiful Town ordinance solves any problems it creates o: but yeah, if you've made some mistakes, it definitely causes problems, haha.

Nothing went wrong. Both of those days, no one wanted to move. This time, TT 3 days as your mayor, save and quit, THEN TT 5 days and start a new file. Sometimes it can take 5+ days for someone to want to move, if non of the houses disappeared when you skipped 6 days, that means no one wanted to :P

Time travelling sucks imo and ruins the game. You get everything quicker, get to finish things, get all your villagers, get to do all the events, can get loads of bells off that...

... and then what? You're done, and you find something to hate about your map, and restart.

Playing it for a little bit each day is a much more rewarding experience.
