Anybody else sort their pockets?

I wish there was a toolbox in the game. I was hopeful the tool ring would function like the wands... two steps forward, one step back

I keep all my tools on the top row, then medicine and fishbait for islands, and tickets if I have them. The rest is just my random junk.

I'm like the opposite of a pack-rat in this game. I sort my pockets, my storage, everything has it's place. I don't keep things in my storage unless they are unorderable, or I have a specific use for them in the near future. Mairen cannot take clutter!

I put all my tools on the bottom two rows of my inventory (usually carry multiple shovels, nets, and fishing rods).

Everything else I let run wild as the tools are enough to sort!

my inventory is almost always full even though I'm constantly visiting my house to put it in my (also almost full, 1,600 space) storage or sell it in timmy and tommy's item box which I treat as a garbage bin
im probably you guys' worst nightmare

lol yes i organized mine too >-< opposite though; i put my tools at the bottom right corner and any items i pick up that need to go in storage right next to them, bottom left. everything else i just let gather at the top randomly

I used to do it in Wild World and New Leaf but if feel like it's impossible to do in NH (T_T) Everything's always moving and ends up so messy. I just gave up ...
However I really enjoy the new storage in house!

i do! i have tools on the top row, my diy workbench, iron nuggets, extra bells and tools in the corner on the bottom and then the rest is random aha

Wait this is a noob question but how do you sort your inventory? It's been bothering me that my tools and such are just randomly strewn in my pocket but I don't know how to move it.

Hold A and you'll be able to pick things up. Then you can move them around.

After seeing this thread I finally took the initiative by putting tools on the upper left now and sorting materials, its easier when its organized.

I keep my tools all on the top row. Not really in a specific order, but I keep multiples of tools as well as regular wood and iron ore. Generally I try to have the tool ring in a specific order though.

I just started organizing my tools and the tools are from the upper left and the rest of the items is after the tools.

More or less. Tool ring tools on then regular axe, umbrella, wand, spare flimsy axes. After that is just the stuff i pick up during the day, and gifts for villagers go at the very end.

I do sometimes, just to sort my tools from the top of my inventory, but they're breakable so it's kinda useless doing it

yeah ! i put my tools/umbrella to fill the first top row, then a stone axe and anything else on the remaining ones !

Yeah I always sort them, especially if I'm doing trades I don't want stuff to be mixed together. If I have to categorize a lot of stuff sometimes I put a sack of bells from my pocket and use them as spacers to tell what is what.

I really try to but stuff goes in and out of my pockets so often that it's super hard. I do group my items when I'm doing trades though so it's easier to drop
