Any way to view all villagers that have moved away?

I stopped playing for awhile so I lost a few of my dream villagers :( I'm wondering if there's any way to view all the villagers that have been in your town and moved away. There's a bunch of other villagers that I'd like to have but I can't remember if I've had them in my town yet. So to avoid the trouble of trading and then realizing they can't move in, it would be great if there's a way to find that out.

Unless you're able to keep track of every old villager that pops up in Main Street as well as your recent move-outs, I'm afraid there is no visible record of every villager you've ever had, unless you take screenshots of them all the time, or you actively keep count.

Speaking of which, how many move-outs have to happen before a villager appears in Main Street? And then, how many more does it take after that to get your villager through the full 16 cycle? 'Cause if you've had enough villagers, you might be able to get some of your older ones back.

hm well I have been paying attention to who's visiting Main Street but I know for sure some villagers I've had in the past that never show up there. If you give a villager away, do they not show up in Main Street? thanks for answering :)

I don't know exactly how it works, I ain't the expert. If a villager never shows up in Main Street when you give them away, that's news to me. I also don't know if you could go the full 16 cycle for a villager you gave away and still be able to have them back. But I'm pretty sure there's no definite list of every villager you've had ever... which is unfortunate.
 
i keep all goodbye letters in the order i recieved them so thts how i know
 
main street is probably the best way. also i think everyone sends a letter when they move, so you could save those at the post office.
 
If you havent updated your dream address since before you stopped playing you could have people visit it and tell you the villagers you had

Well, it works like this.

Say if you had villagers named 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. 1 moves. 2, 3, 4 and five move. You will start seeing one, and after another moved, you see two, then three, four and five. If six moves, one disappears, and the other villagers come up.

I have the same problem... I've been more or less cycling to re-obtain Lobo and I totally have no clue I'm at either 12-13-14 or 15. I know I'm not a 16 yet since I have tried to get him to move in twice and he wouldn't...

bottom line: you can't and having to wait until they don't show up anymore at your mainstreet isn't very waterproof either :( ---- I had Lobo showing up a few times early January, than nothing, and since a few days, he's in my T&T daily...

the ONLY way is to keep an exact track of the ones that moved out (= the number of villagers that moved out) or when the wanted villager shows up in your campsite

Why is everyone making things so complicated?

Walk up to the town tree, sit on the base. It will give you a nice history of villagers, then you can see which ones you had.

What's sad is that it only gives you the history of the villagers in your town.

nope ! it only gives a history of the ones you have IN your town atm

So after a given villager (1) moves out, 4 more have to move before that villager shows up on Main Street. I'm taking it that only five villagers can be in Main Street at one time, so in your example, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 would all be in Main Street together. But when the 6th one shows up on Main Street (meaning 9 villagers must have moved out after the first), 1 is kicked out, meaning 7 more have to move out before 1 can be re-invited to your town.

Did I get it?

Approximately, that is how it works, yes.
