I'm new to villager trading, so I'm a bit confused on some things.

Tomorrow, my friend is going to TT and I'm going to go over to her town to pick up Freya when she is in boxes. As long as I have a spot available for her, it will trigger the move-in message, correct?

Is there a chance of it "failing"? Can they say they'll move in, but not actually move in?

I'm terrible with wording, so I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance for the help!

That's actually happened to me before, but it's very unlikely. If you have only eight villagers and ask two villagers to move in on the same day, maybe that tricks it? I think that's what I did. o.o

You can only invite one villager per day, when you ask 2 the same day only the second will actually move in

I only plan on asking one to move in since I only have one spot open right now. As long as nobody sets a plot down tomorrow, it should work, correct? There's no chance that they won't initiate the moving conversation with you?

They should only not talk about moving if you've had them before and can't get them again, or if you have someone else moving in already. I invited Ed in from the campsite, decided I didn't want him, so I TT'd Erik into boxes in my other town. Turned out I couldn't get him to move because it wouldn't let me override Ed.

If nothing like that is going on, it should not be a problem at all. Other than if I had a space, I'd sneak in and get Freya before you. Haha, j/k.

If you asked two villagers to move in, then the first villager will be cancelled out, and only the second villager will move in.
Basically, you can only move in one villager on one day.

When you go to their town and talk to them, you are given the option to make them move in or say something like 'good luck!'. Choose the option which makes them move into your town, they will definitely 100% move into your town ;)

do not save/continue, you both will lose the villager that way. either end the session or take the train home. remember the villager's fence will show up two days later. someone entering after you ask the villager to join probably counts as save/continue and might also kill the villager.

I'm a bit confused... Why does that happen? What's the difference?
