Yeah, you'd probably have someone report you for suspicious activity if you were taking snapshots of peoples homes. Sort of off topic, but I used to play hide and seek in the dark with some friends, and we couldn't leave the street we were on. I hid behind someone's vehicle and people came out of the house and began shouting at me. I told them I was playing hide and seek, but I don't know if they believed me or not. I'm too lazy to build my own house in The Sims. I would be a bad home builder in real life, too.Dude, I do that ALL THE TIME with wanting to recreate things in Sims. I also name off how much bugs are worth when I see them IRL. Sometimes, my DD and I see glowing money tree spots (bright rays of light on the grass in our backyard). When my husband and daughter caught fireflies a couple of weeks ago, he held his catches out and did the little woo-hoo thing.
Not AC, but in reference to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, my DD and I point out places in nature where korok seeds could be hiding.

With animal crossing I do the same as said above, for a spilt second I see a bug and I'm like "OOH" oh, wait..
I did a similar thing when I binged Stardew Valley for the first time, it was literally all I was doing. Pam has a mini quest where she requests a pale ale, and I was in the supermarket down the alcohol isle and saw one, pointed it out to my boyfriend, and then came to the realisation that I probably should take a break from playing after seeing the reaction on his face, when he realised why I was excited to have found one

So far not with animal crossing. I do have these moments once in a great while, though. One time I was writing something on paper and made a mistake and my mind went "just click undo". It took me a moment to figure out I can't do that... lol.
