I am having issues inviting amibo to the campsite. I bought the official cards for Wendell and franklin and neither of them are able to come, when invited it says “you can’t seem to chat right now”. I have registered them both On the amibo option on the home page.
Can anyone help?
You can only invite the villager amiibo, not the characters that were NPCs in the older games. All special cards (usually the first ~17 of each series) that are marked with SP aren't villagers.
If you scan one of these cards and the character is already in the game (like Tom Nook or Leif), they will answer your call but tell you they're too busy to go camping.
NPCs cannot be summoned to campsites. The campsite is for inviting a villager to live on your island (although Sanrio and other special characters cannot be summoned anymore). NPCs can only be used on Photopia/Harv's island for photoshoots, although some NPCs don't have capability yet, like Digby and Resetti. They will probably add the models in as the game updates, since Reese, Cyrus, and Rover should be available now. But you should be able to obtain posters for the villagers/NPCs that don't have capability yet if you scan them in Photopia.
