Am I the only one who hates the stalk market and doesn't like Mary Sue (or whatever the Joan replacement is called)?

I don't mind it. I usually check a site like turnip prophet to make sure I have a decent chance of a good pattern, then buy (or don't buy) based on that. I've only ever been to someone else's island twice to sell when I ended up with a decreasing pattern, otherwise I just sell for what I can on my own island. I'm not making huge bags of bells, but it's enough so that I don't have to spend my limited gaming time bug/fish hunting and can work on other projects instead.

I never did it in New Leaf, but I really love the stalk market here. I only do it on my island and I use stalks.io to help me keep track of my turnip prices. Yes, it is a gamble, but I have been interested in the actual stock market for a while and doing the stalk market is a nice low-pressure simulation.

I used to believe that it was impossible to make any sort of bells with the stalk market on your own island, but after doing it for six weeks, that just isn't true. I have always hit some sort of profit so far. If anything, I am really due to hit a slump and sell at a loss soon. Hopefully, it won't be this week because I took a gamble to put in 100k bells instead of my usual 50k bells.

I do see the stalk market as gambling. But I'm a very risk-averse person whether in real life or in a game, so I don't try to make bells with turnips.

Having said that, I did buy turnips last week. To let them rot. Because I wanted to attract and catch ants.

I never cared about it in new leaf but I actually like it in new horizons. I think its a really easy way for me to make money, especially since I'm very active in the online community. Last week I bought and sold turnips one afternoon in under an hour and made 2 million bells.

I have never understood the appeal of characters with a giant snot glob hanging out of their noses.... it's gross. If she had a tissue, daisy mae would be rly cute. I don't care much for turnips. Did enough to get the achievements, but ppl in this fandom rn ask way too much to come to their island for high pirces (saw several ppl asking for robot hero.....)

I played the stalk market twice in NH. Managed to get so many bells that it trivialized most things.

It's not going to be a problem in the end because I spend most of my bells buying things to give them to other people than with things that I'll actually use, so at least I feel at peace this way.

I don't like it so much either, but it's one of the only solid ways to make money in NH so it seems for the time being we're stuck with it.

Since I'm a perfectionist to my own fault, I've already spent several millions of bells moving around buildings, villager homes and bridges/inclines, so I've been forced to buy and sell turnips to facilitate that. And at the rate I'm going with my indecisiveness I'll need to buy some more turnips soon. xD

Aw I really love Daisy Mae. I haven't participated in the stalk market since I gained the final achievement, and probably won't, as I don't really see a use for millions upon millions of bells.

While I do like Daisy Mae a lot, I never cared for the turnip market that much. It's one of those things about AC that doesn't appeal to me that much at all, way too much stress and drama in that business. Nothing for me.

mary sue dSAJFSINvdSJIEWFJG help i'm screaming

i like it, it's a fun game to play but i'm not obsessed with it. it's just annoying to clear your pockets and stuff.. but hey we do that anyway to farm bugs/fishes

I didn't do it in New Leaf but I started trying it out in this game! I wanted to finish the achievements and get some extra bells. It seems to be way easier now than in New Leaf, what with Turnip Exchange and Animal Crossing Exchange being great tools to use.

me too, i've never really bothered with it on new leaf
i think it's also because social media wasn't a huge thing, so you just rely on your town & i didn't wanna gamble like that

i havent cared abt the stalk market since acgc and 20ish yrs later...i still dont care abt the stalk market 🤣

I used to not be into the Stalk Market, then I tried it and ever since I been REALLY into it... so far I am rocking over 40mil due to it.

I personally don't sell turnips, but I do let people in to sell if I have high prices. It's not really gambling at all, it's just the game's version of the Dow Jones Stock Market. You get rich by waiting for a spike in prices where available, and selling your available stock. You're not throwing all your bells away as there's still plenty of chances to gain back what you spent when you initially bought turnips.
