This has been bothering me for a while, it seems that 70% of Animal Crossing players time travel without end so that they can have everything now and immediately.

What is the point in this?! It completely defeats the purpose of the games and destroys what AC stands for. I mean if you want to go through your days super fast without living them might as well go play Harvest Moon or something like that!

I like it that Nintendo put in the fact that turnips rot when time traveling but I had hoped they would have added some more drastic measures that would truly stop people from doing this.

Just like the duplication code. I worked my *ss off to get my Royal Crown, hard work and chance is what these games are made off, why want everything NOW in 2 days? I really don't get that. It kills the longevity of the game.
Yes I want the 7/11 series, but I want to work for them, I'd rather pay 20mil and get real ones than get fakes for free. It's how the game works and that is the brilliance of it. Trading with people from around the world, getting items they won't get and then trading them or selling them.

Ummm ill play how I want too.. Just like how I play any game I want too.. Like PC games and mods or cheats. If I want to use a code in skyrim to be rich instantly I will. I'm an adult and ill play how I want.

Are you mad about time travelers or people who duplicate? Time travelers are no big deal. Alot of ppl(Including me) are TTing purely to get villagers they like.
Besides, so what if someone unlocks whatever before you. It doesnt affect you. Play your game, everyone else will play theirs.

Duplication though is something to be upset about I suppose. Nothing is really worth anything anymore.

I never time travel, and won't do so as thats how i like to play my game, but id never judge others on how they want to play their game, they have paid the exact same money for, its silly.

Don't you think that's a little too high? Do take into consideration that majority of players here are against Time Travelling as well as the duplication trick. You're not the only one. If someone wants to time travel, or use the trick, then let them be. None of us have any right to make judgement on how they decide to play. Just because players are aware on how to duplicate items, that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll use it, right? If you want to work your behind off to get your items, then so be it. Some players may time travel on a separate game in order to complete their catalog, or to help out others... I don't know. I honestly don't care, they can play the game however they feel. If they get bored, well that's their problem.

Stop being a republican and chill.

If it actually bothers you then you're jealous over an object that doesn't exist. If something took you forever to get yet you got it that feeling of accomplishment should make you feel content.

I TTed one time only to unlock the Sewing Machine at the Able Sisters, but i don't do this all the time, it makes the game boring.

I only time travel because you can only get 2 bushes a day in T&T emporium. I'm going for a perfect town so once I've finished ill probably stop time travelling

Sorry, I just had to lol at this! xD

No Ripley, just by glancing at these forum threads, I can tell you that you are definitely not the only person against TTing. -_-

It disturbs me more that you say TTing defeats the purpose of the game than it does that people want to TT "without end" because what does that mean? Once you unlock everything and have obtained all of the hard-to-obtain items, are you just going to suddenly lose interest and stop playing!? If so, then I think it is YOU who miss the purpose of this game.

People all TT for different reasons, it's not just to get further in the game and then to rub it your face. Sure, there are always going to be those, but does that mean you should judge so harshly against those who time travel purely because they don't have much time in a day at all to play? What if you couldn't get on the game until after all the shops had closed, even with night owl ordinance? If I still had my old job working the overnight shift, that's exactly what boat I'd be in right now, so I sympathize with those people. Also, like Gizmodo said, we all paid our same hard-earned cash for the game as you did. Can't we enjoy the simple pleasure of playing the game in whichever way makes the experience most enjoyable to us?

Also, I'm not really even taking your opinion very seriously because with what you said about the Royal Crown, you seem to just be one of "them." By which I mean - a braggy try-hard that only plays games to say "Oh I put HUNDREDS of hours into this game to get (insert rare item here), so that makes me an ELITE PLAYER unlike you!" which I just don't see the point of at all. If anything, you're going to get bored of the game before any of the TTers because you're over there just grinding your a** off trying to get items purely for the desirability factor. Protip: nobody's really impressed.

How is that even related?

As far as time travelling and duplication, if it upsets you just don't associate with people who do it. It doesn't really affect you anyway. I don't know why people get their panties in a bunch over something that doesn't really have anything to do with them. If Nintendo didnt want people to time travel, they wouldn't include it. The great thing about animal crossing is that you can play the game however you'd like.

Yeah I agree, people will play the game however they like, if you want to save up lots of bells for something then thats great but someone else might not want to.

I mean it is supposed to be a simulator that passes in real time. If you TT it destroys the real time effect which is what the game is all about. The calm atmosphere of daily life etc...
Also, I got the crown because 'I' really wanted it, not because a few peeps online want it so that saying was a bit weird. Don't you buy ALL your stuff because in the end, YOU want it?

I guess, but it's not that hard, we play normally every day and had this status since a few days now.

I am European, this means nothing to me.

I never said anything about this and honestly couldn't care less, that wasn't the point of this thread. :/

*sigh*

I've been gaming since approximately 1987. Longer than a good chunk of people on these forums have been alive. And you know what I've learned in 26 years of gaming? That people have all kinds of ways of enjoying games. Some people are fine with just beating the main story. Some want to do every tiny last little thing. Some people find it interesting to pick the game apart by finding weird glitches. Some people are impatient or find it difficult to get something they want and so use some method to cheat.

What way is the right way? ALL OF THEM. Video games are about having fun. Play the game how you find most fun. And, last I checked, Animal Crossing was a video game.

Anyway, that's my thoughts on TT. I don't really care if people do or not.

I'd prefer people not to dupe items, but if they figure out how to, they will. There's no getting around that. Just try to buy/trade from people that you believe have legit copies if you don't want a dupe. That's all you can do.

I never said anything about that I judge people who this, I just asked what the point was as it defeats the purpose of the game. Also, I used to work grave yard shifts and always played CF without any problems.

I guess in the end, I do agree with absolutely everything you just said.

Calm down AC Messiah. Didnt your mother breastfeed you?

Hate thread #98465894501385 and there are still people who dont grasp the concept of free will.
Suum cuique.

I really didn't pay for a Nintendo 3DS and a copy of New Leaf just so I could play the way some random dude on the internet wants me to.

Come on, guys. I know majority don't agree with Ripley, but there's no need to throw out insults. =/
