how often does it happen? i was just island hopping earlier and i didn't experience that at all. that's so weird.
Just the nature of RNG. It happens every so often. I've gotten the same villager 3 times in a row once as well (but I've also done 2300+ tickets island hunting for fun)

I noticed it too! I saw someone getting octavian three times in a row. I thought the person was really unlucky but it happened with other three villagers. And I saw a LOT of other youtubers having this as well. They proved by talked to them multiple times, although they could edit to make it look like it's in a row, but there is no reason for it. I watched a lot of these videos xD Never happened to me but it's so weird because it's so unlikely yet it keeps happening.
Yeah but it just started happening and it would be the same island. It happened to be on a bamboo island. Like I got the same bamboo island with a villager two times in a row. I would kinda get it if the villager was on a different island

I saw someone getting Moe two times in a row in that island with a big pond on the left. Also, I think it was annabelle two times in a row in spiral island. The others I don't remember. Octavian I kinda understand, he is one of the most common, and I think only the first two times were in the same island

Definitely not a bug. The game first rolls which species to spawn, then it rolls a second time to determine which villager of that species spawns.
For example, roll 1 landed on dog, roll 2 landed on Bones. So if the games chooses dog again chances are you will encounter another dog villager OR it may just land on Bones again, resulting in seeing that same villager twice in a row. It's happened to me with Ankha, Clay, Elvis.... Twice in a row is a bit on the uncommon side but I can confirm it's VERY possible.

So if the games chooses dog again chances are you will encounter another dog villager OR it may just land on Bones again, resulting in seeing that same villager twice in a row. I think it is just RNG... Once I got Octavian 4 times in the same island-hopping session but on different island types. It was directly after I voided him as well, and I thought he might be stalking me haha
I got graham 3 times in a row, first two were the same type of island too. This was still in under 100 tickets so I was mad lol.
But I'm getting them on same islands too. I got the same person and the same exact island, and I'm sorry but rng don't work like that. Were I get two bamboo islands in a row

Like I've been getting literally a copy of a island before the other one. Not just the villagers, because i know you can get duplicates

Can definitely happen! I've gotten swirl island and bamboo island back to back. It's pretty rare though but if you're binge island hopping (like 100 tickets in one sitting lol) then I'd say the odds increase.
