In the fossil exhibit of the musuem in the 3rd room, it has silhouettes of the animal villagers. Of course I thought they were just decoration, and the lines on the floor were just decorations as well. Well they aren't. The lines are going from fossils to the silhouette of the dinosaur's descendant. Like for example, the Sabertooth cat has a line going from the fossil to the cat silhouette. And at the end of the row of sihouettes, there is an empty spot, and if you have the Australopith fossil and you stand in that empty spot, it lights up.

Seriously that is so FREAKING cool!!

You don't even gotta have the Australopith fossil for that spot to light up- but yeah its SO cool! I could seriously gush all day about how much I love the museum in this game, seriously. I very rarely am able to visit museums and aquariums in real life so this is an amazing way to go to one, really. It feels so real- and is actually interactive and really neat and kinda educational??

Have you seen yet that if you stand in the blue spots in the big room, the camera angle changes?? I think there's 3 spots to do it, might be wrong.

I remember that on the first day of the museum, I really like how they placed the animal silhouette in the (2nd room?) and compared them to ancestors.

So I could be totally wrong, maybe more than one museum in the world does this, but I think this is based on the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. That was my first thought when I first saw it, because the fossils wing of the AMNH has those lines on the floor tracing the phylogenetic histories of modern kinds of organisms through the exhibits and the fossils are laid out in approximately chronological order to match. You might notice that it is the same in the AC museum, the first fossils at the beginning of the wing are some of the oldest and simplest life forms, like the trilobites. And the fossils in front of the villager silhouettes match up to what their ancestors really might have been, for example the Australopith is in front of the space for the villager to stand in but also shows a fork off from a common ancestor with the monkey villagers.

Evolutionary biology is fun. 😁 I really really love all the detail out into the museum in this game and appreciate how accurate the fossil wing is! The others are probably accurate too, I’m just less familiar with fish and bugs haha.

Yes just like the spot you’re can stand on to see how vast the museum is in the fossil section. I saw today I’m only missing 3 fossils! I love the details in this game!

i noticed it but it’s really cool! so much thought went into the museum exhibits ;u;

Too bad they’re missing several animal species like the Sheep and Goat (and others) but I think they didn’t want to duplicate ancestor.

I'm still wondering if the spot in the aquarium near the butterfly fish exhibit does/will do anything. It seems to be a word design feature, and with other interactive spots, it looks like you should be able to do something.

I think they didn't want to overlap, as they share an ancestor with the deer and cows. It's the same reason tigers, lions, ostriches, and birds are missing, because they share an ancestor with the cats and eagles respectively (who are present)

idk if it's universal with all species but ive found kid cat in there several times and he always goes to stand in the cat silhouette and its 🥺 🥺 🥺
