After I pull them ...zero. None. Zilch. I have done Weeding day many ,many ,many times... My friend wanted rose sofas . I got cosmos fans , sofas, beds, screens and record players galore. Never did I get the clock or hybrid bags.

That's what I thought. On Weeding Day you can get only furniture. When Leif appears as a Special Visitor (when you have more than 50 weeds in your town), you play the mini-game from which you can obtain the hybrid flower seed bags.
During the Special Visitor mini-game, how many weeds are left when you talk to Leif in order to obtain the hybrid flower seed bags?

If I remember correctly, when lief is in your town (regularly, not Weeding Day) he'll be sleeping. Pick up all the weeds in the town and then wake him up. He should give you a bag then.
Are you sure? If you pick all the weeds, I think he gives you only furniture (if you pick all the weeds in less than 60 minutes).
EDIT: Oops... you pick ALL the weeds BEFORE you wake Leif?

Yep ^-^ That's why most ppl didn't know they existed for a pretty long time xD
Well, we all knew about them (knew they existed) because they were in the Japanese guides and I published them in my FAQ in February, 2013, long before the North American version was released. Unfortunately, it wasn't entirely clear how to obtain them. I've gotten only a handful of them, only by leaving 1 to 5 weeds un-picked when going to Leif and stopping the mini-game.
Thank you for the info. I will try it the next time Leif appears.
