Airport colors.. is there red and orange or is there just one....

I'm honestly confused because I reset for hours and hours and never have seen an orange airport... I have seen a red airport though... I've seen red yellow blue and green.. have not seen orange.. so I was starting to think Is the red airport orange??? Is there no red airport?? I was almost certain it was RED not orange!?

I just looked through some guides and it looks like the red and orange are the same.

There’s just orange, unfortunately. Some confusion happened early on because of a picture with misleading lighting making the orange look red.

it still shocks me that some nook miles furniture items are tied to the airport colors

i have the orange & it’s very much orange to me. never thought of it as red tbh.

There's guides online as to which nook mile item variants you get based on airport color, and the other options for all the items. If you don't care about that, the airport color really doesn't matter, it's just an aesthetic choice!

I would call it orange myself but I guess it could be seen as red, especially in some lighting. It's just the difference in how some people see color, I guess. Kinda like how some people say traffic lights are "red, orange, green" while others (more commonly) see it as "red, yellow, green."

Actually, the “Orangetown” bit refers to your native fruit! I know this because I have a blue airport and peaches; Wilbur calls it “Peachtown.”

Oh ok! I always thought it was because my town airport is orange, and since he flies to the airport....I just always figured that’s why he mentions orangetown. The fruit makes sense also. I just happen to have orange airport and orange fruit.

It’s orange. Same as the color of the life buoys. I recently reset my town and specifically looked for an orange airport because of the aesthetic I’m going for (and I need white street lamps) so I flew over a lot of maps looking for that orange color.

I guess it’s how different people see it. All eyes are different. It looks very orange to me...the same color as the in game oranges. Does it look the color of the apples and cherrries for those who see it red? Just wondering

Also do the buoys look the same color or different? The buoys look orange to me, same as the airport.

I just looked up pictures to check, and it definitely looks orange to me. I can see it looking a teensy bit reddish in some of the pictures taken at sunset though, so maybe it can look different at different times of the day.

Same! I'd love if they gave us the option to change the exterior of the airport and RS and stuff. We had that in ACNL and I'd love it back!
The other day someone mentioned more uses for Nook Miles- editing the exteriors of public buildings could be a good use for them!

I have the orange airport (whyyy game why, I would have loved blue/green/yellow)
but I never even thought it was red :0

even during golden hour I think it clearly looks orange
