I can only remember getting these once or twice as a kid (the kind with chocolates in them). I see stacks of them every year in the drugstores (Walgreens, CVS, etc), they actually sell out pretty quickly; they're usually the flimsy narrow cardboard box kind with chocolates in them, theyre made in Germany or Poland typically and only cost two or three dollars.

I've seen the lego advent calendars in the stores, they're expensive.

I don't know why they're not more popular in the U.S.

I don't have one but I bought my boyfriend a beer advent calendar

where can i get this?!?!

I get them every year! My favourite are the Lindt (a chocolate company, not sure if they are outside of Canada or not...) calendars because you get tons of really good quality chocolate. ^_^

yeah we have Lindt chocolates out the wazoo in the USA, although ive never seen their advent calendars.

i used to have chocolate ones but i havent had one in years. i'm not sad about it because the chocolate in them is disgusting tbh

I have a john lewis one which looks like a book, when you open it there's doors for each day. You have to put in your own chocolate and since the doors are so little the only chocolates that can fit in are something like eclairs

I got a half-price one from Oxfam yesterday, with Divine chocolate in. The chocolate's not amazing, but I do like counting down to Christmas :D

I ended up getting two, I was told that I wasn't going to be given one this year by my grandparents- too old apparently- so I bought myself a Cadburys one (pushed the boat out and got the larger version with vanilla filled chocolates :3) and then the same grandparents came round on the 1st and gave me a calendar anyway (a personalised Thorntons one) as they were 'on offer'...

I'm tempted to get a Yankee Candle one if they still have them in the gift shop at work, I get a 25% staff discount in there so I'd get one pretty cheap, and I have been dragged into a Yankee Candle addiction by my coworkers :P

EDIT: Ended up buying a Carousel Yankee Candle Advent Calendar as their calendars are 50% off right now, I'm going to share it with my boyfriend and we are going to take it in turns opening the days :3 (or in my case stocking up my days so when I visit I get multiple doors to open :P )

Just got one! I've heard about these from a friend of mine in the UK. I was interested in them after hearing about them :D

Yes! Chocolate all the way! Nostalgia is a pretty strong force if it can make that crappy, plastic covered chocolate taste so much better than normal chocolate.

dang, i was in 3 stores today and they were all sold out of chocolate advent calendars...

(lol- the clerks didn't even know what an "advent calendar" is-- you have to ask for a Christmas calendar..., ancient christian terminology is mostly only understood by catholics now in this country...)

Is that the one where it's a countdown to Christmas? Everyday you eat one chocolate? (▰˘◡˘▰) If it's yes, I watch a YouTuber that uses them, but eats all the chocolate in one minute XD.

not only do they make a Lego advent calendar, but they also make a Lego Star Wars advent calendar:

shopping

This is the first year I've not had one. I didn't even realise it until it was already December. Oh well!

I have one but i keep forgetting about it

picked one up last night at Walgreens- made in Germany- it was only 2 bucks. will try to post a pic later.

I really want a beauty one but they are so expensive! :(

the only advent calendar that i care about is the one on runescape

I have never had an advent calendar, however, here's a few ideas for advent calendars:
1. A Pok?mon Advent Calendar
The flaps are images of Pokemon and the chocolates are chocolate shaped like the Pokemon on the flap.
2. A Animal Crossing Advent Calendar
The flaps are images of special villagers, and the chocolates are chocolate shaped like the leaf used for the logo.
3. SSB Advent Calendar
The flaps are images of popular playable characters, and the chocolates are chocolate shaped like the Smash Ball.

I have much more, too.
