ACC

I got a spam warning for saying 'no' on a thread. xD
I haven't been on lately, but I still do like ACC. I think I prefer TBT's layout and such, but ACC is still a good website.

I was browsing ACC before I joined this place and I'm glad I chose tbt.

ACC seems like poop with a web address.

I hated the place! I was there for 2 years and i never once posted, I stuck to posting in privet threads. They made me hate animal crossing with their terrible site, they led me to TBT actually busy *****ing about them :)

i got an infraction just because i posted a thread in the wrong area. here, the mods would simply just move it. the layout hurt my eyes and they were getting just a bit carried away with the term "family-friendly".

Whenever I got an infraction I always felt like I was getting yelled at in elementary school.

ACC is a ****ing joke. I once reported a bunch of spam posts and a mod told me to stop reporting so many because it took too much time to deal with it.

Also they don't let you say "oh my god" or "omg".

Wait, are you serious? o-o

First if all, as a moderator, there job is to deal with reports, regardless of how many reports are used. If they were picked as mod and accepted it, they signed up for that. That mod is an idiot.

As for the OMG thing, I would probably be banned there because I always use omg. In fact, I use omg to describe that rule for ACC. lol

The most facepalming act I've seen on ACC so far: You aren't allowed to trade non-reorderable items in shops. That means:
- NO Gracie items of ANY kind
- NO holiday items (ex. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve, Fireworks)
- NO fish/bug set
- NO sloppy/7-11 set

I... *sigh*

People always say bad things about ACC on here and I never truly got why until I returned to the site in 2012. I actually joined back in 2006 (I was very young at the time and it was the first forum I had ever joined)! My parents didn't mind me joining the forum because I had always used the internet since a young age and basically was taught what was deemed right and wrong to do on the internet. I have to admit if you're a younger child, aged 9 - 13, you will probably really like the site and it is very safe. Sure the staff ARE very strict there but I suppose it is to keep the very young children "safe" on the website so their parents don't get bad impressions of the place (they also put that COPPA law onto their site now so they need to donate some money if they want their child to sign up to the site but are under 13, so maybe it's just a good way of making money). I suppose if you're older than 13 you will generally find the site quite boring... The staff are harsh and unfair as you all said and the users on there can be quite immature. So yeah, I can understand why you hate on ACC but it isn't really aimed at your age group since most people on TBT are aged 13/14+ so... ^^"

But at the same time there's the GG (grown-up gamers) section. That was kind of cool, but everyone there was a parent or grandparent... so you can't fit in on that site unless you're not old enough to be in high school or have had children -.-

Uhmm no?
I've seen plenty of these threads on ACC, unless the rules changes. No they didn't, I just checked and these threads are still there...

The only probably I've ever had with ACC is how terrible it looks. I wish they would update the sites layout.

Same layout for about 6 years now...

Way longer than 6 years. Unless my eyes are deceiving me, it's been the same since TBT started, and ACC was around for about a year or two before us. Basically, it's never changed.

To the main topic... yeah. I find ourselves using ACC often as a example for what we don't want our site to be. We do most things very differently from them for the better, although there are a couple things we could learn from them as well.

Just goin' by how long I've been there.

I'm curious, what could we learn?

I know this may sound bad, but I'm quite sure the ACC is full of younger people who often misinterpret a lot of things. I know for one, a girl said she'd give me Kyle for something (I don't remember what) and after a few days, she stopped replying to me- then I checked all of her threads and apparently she gave him to someone else and decided to ignore me. I know it isn't much to get angry over, but when you've looked for that villager for a while you start to think you won't get it, ya' know?
I dunno, overall, I stopped using ACC...

Similar situation for me.

I tried to log into my account about a month ago just for the hell of it and my account is banned.
I've only made like one post with that account. I'm so confused.

:l

I'm on ACC but I rarely use it. I find the site confusing to use to be honest. I've tried trading on there, and I used it to do my auction along with here to see if I still wanted to use it.

I don't know, I just don't feel comfortable using it, it doesn't seem welcoming at all and the way it's laid out just isn't user friendly, for me. I may still use it for small things, like the patterns and town tunes, but I can't see me being a huge user.

I migrated from ACC to here @-@ Like others said, it's confusing, kinda ugly layout and immature people.
I feel like I can't make any friends on there since most of them kinda make me paranoid they will ruin my town tbh.

This whole thing is like club penguins armies... except it's like the battle of the forums xD But yeah this forum does seem better, I agree with Tiny about the layout.
