Is it true they only appear after rainy days?

I don't think so. I've found them in the Winter, and it doesn't rain.

But it snows and snow is just like rain

I'd like to make one.For fun of course. <_< A Gyroid is what I meant.

I used to be able to find gyroids, but now all I find is fossils and occasionally a pitfall trap.

I usually find one Pitfall each day and I think 5-8 Fossils everyday.Very rarely I get Gyroids and usually they're ones I already have. <_<
