Gracie is probably my favorite character in the entire series. She's a giraffe,my favorite animal, and she's a true diva, you can't get better than that.

I just wanted to point out that if you listen closely, you'll notice Gracie has a male voice. This is because in Japan, Gracie is actually a very flamboyant male. I find weird how when localizing City Folk they made him a female outside of Japan, because I would be totally OK with him being a male... This shows how Japanese usually have a more open mindset regarding these kind of things.

However, I also appreciate how progressive the series has become. Not only can you do crossdressing in New Leaf, but they added the smug and uchi personalities, which spice things up regarding gender stereotypes. And also, I don't know if anyone else has had this dialogue pop up, but one time Diana (snooty) asked me (a male character) if I was into wearing make-up, and when I said yes, she responded something like that there is absolutely nothing wrong with it because the future is here and everyone should live how they want to.

What do you guys think about all of this?

I love it, I love the being able to wear a dress as a male character or being able to wear male clothing as a female(especially when Gracie says she think's you'll look good in opposite gender clothes ;D) One of my favorites would be being able to do opposite gender hair though because I'm picky about hair/hair color and matching with the outfit

I also think it's cool how the game's "fashion designer" is a male because it just shows how "female roles" can be done by males, and "male roles" can be done by females I love how open those games out there can be, and how they aren't strict with gender

Also I don't know if this counts, but as a female when I go up to the Jocks they talk about how my character has "muscles" and ask if they went off for training because correct me if I'm wrong but back before sports and body building was a "male thing" not a "female thing" I've even seen females in this type of thing in Pokemon too, it shows how gender friendly Nintendo can be

It just makes me love Animal Crossing a whole lot more~

I love how Animal Crossing implants that, it makes it easier for kids to understand stuff like this.

The world is split over personal choices. Like, a boy buying a doll, or a girl buying a nerf gun.

Its such a small detail, yet it makes a huge difference

Wow, I never knew that, I really love the idea of Gracie being male!
It's great to have the freedom of wearing all the fashion regardless of gender.

It makes me think of how I recently gave my villager Poppy a feminine style tee to wear and then soon after Fang copied and he started wearing it too and I thought wow, it actually looks better on him and he's still rocking it now.

Japan has always had a weird culture, so they're used to those types of things.
A lot of places outside of Japan aren't comfortable with it, so it's no surprise they had to change things.
But I think all of this is slowly rising because it's all becoming the norm.
It's good progress.
