That was the issue! I'm happy to report I got 8 this timeI think I just pressed A like my life depended on it without even considering what was happening on screen but idk if that’s the right strategy!

Also @Candy83 I agree that it’s based on relationship level as my favorites Flora, Goldie, & Bones were at my bday party! Flora & Bones are also my oldest residents now ☺ Happy Birthday! Don’t forget to get the song from KK
And Merry wished me a birthday that's "all sparkles and laserbeams" which was nice of her
My side characters don't really have friends since I don't play with them much, and Merry seems to be the designated "party thrower" for all of them. Which, let's be real, makes a lot of sense for a peppy girl. She also looks beyond precious in her party outfit

Apparently you can get up to 10 (!!!) so I’m not mashing enough either
oof, thanks for saying this because i didn't know you can get a max up to 10 of them. my birthday is still several months away but i will definitely keep this in mind when the time comes around. would love to be able to get all 10 to gift and keep a few tbh

Actually, on b-days that DON'T fall on Saturdays, when should you visit K.K. for it? Before or after your birthday?It SEEMS that the villagers who are at your party don't actually accept cupcakes (there's special cupcake dialogue!) so maybe the most you can gift is seven?

Both main and extra player have the same birthday. I avoided spoilers and enjoyed the day.
Main Player went first and didn't mash the buttons. 9 cupcakes and the villagers that threw the party took the cupcakes after I left.
2nd Player mash the buttons better and got less 7 cupcakes. That player was new to town.
Main player received birthday prizes from some villagers and other gave clothing/furniture.
Both players got their song after sitting and listening to K.K. Birthday.
