Okay, here's the deal.

I have too much love in my heart for these tiny little pixel facey animals and they are one of the few sources of joy I can get out of my day. But. ;-;

It has come down to a bit of a tight decision.

My current town, Vayne, has been running since Feb 2015, according to the DS Photo Gallery. I have three boys on this town that are my loves, Marshal, Wolfgang, and Kyle, that are allll very expensive if I were to get their amiibo cards individually online. $40, 30, and $20 respectively. Yikes. For that price I should just go buy a new 2DS and a copy of AC.

However, my dilemma is that I am trapped with two amiibo villagers whom I do not want and will not ping to move. No matter what. I am constantly faced with all my other good villagers, the ones I do want, pinging to move, and having to suck it up and part ways with them as Mint and Tutu sit back and laugh at me, undoing my own hard work. :c I need the amiibos to move because I need two or three more villagers' with certain personalities for PWPs, and they are eating up those spots and I'm tearing apart my town working around them.

I am done parting with lost lambs.

I have three options.

1. Buy a new 2DS, New Copy of ACNL, move my good boys and girls to that town, give the old DS to my younger sister. Pros: Save my angels. Cons: $100 and my mother doesn't want me buying any more consoles or handhelds ever again. I understand why considering I've gone off the deep end with two handhelds AND a Wii U. $500+ already. I would have to buy the exact same color and model and never have them out at the same time. >n<

2. Spend money on Series 1 and Series 3 Amiibo Cards, looking for Kyle, Marshal and Wolfgang. Note that I would have a 5 in 80 something chance I would find who I was looking for, not counting the special NPC cards, and this could go on forever. Pros: Once I have the cards, never have this issue again. Allow natural copies of Marshal/Wolfgang to move out, move Marshal/Wolfgang Amiibos in over Mint/Tutu. As Lyle would say, Bang. Cons: Time and money wasting. No guarantees.

3. Start clean. Sell my town, and track down all my beloved babies on the Trading Plaza for TBT again. Biggest Con: I would have to store four houses worth, all upgraded, of rare unorderable items in my brother's town, which would take days/weeks/forever to migrate back and forth and be extremely annoying. Pro: Rid myself of the amiibo slots, and never scan again. period.

What would you choose, and why?

You could just buy a few amiibo card packs and trade cards you don't want. I struck a trade for marshal by trading an extra julian I have yesterday.

Well this is a difficult decision

I have lost so many villagers on the poll I posted, and dearly wanted to keep, just because I couldn't get the amiibos to move. It's heartbreaking.

My mother wouldn't allow me sending things out like that back and forth by mail, she's a bit... controlling. >->

Edit: The thing with the cards is that she monitors the mail. I can buy things off ebay so long as I tell her since it's under her name, but trying to explain the whole: "I'm sending this card I bought to this stranger in TX, in exchange for this card they're sending to my address, which is also your address here, where you live, and now they know where you live..." Let's just say she's a bit paranoid. ^^;

I'd choose option one OR three. One because you could tell your sister that part of the agreement is mom doesn't know you each have a DS, but rather think it's the same one. She is to keep it in her room if you are out of your room playing yours, and keep it in good condition or you'll just sell it (or something I D K)

And then three because that might be the easiest, but you lose your favorite villagers. But think of it that you can cycle once you get all the PWP you need/want! Once your town is "perfect" you can get your perfect villagers. And what's a reset if you can keep your items when eventually there will be a point you say "I've done everything I want to with this game. Time to reset."

I would try the amiibo collecting but that may not be worth it considering you have like a 1 in 84 chance of pulling a card you want, therefore you could end up spending a hella lot of money just to get them.

If all fails, I would reset. Sometimes its nice to start afresh and collect everything again. Thats the joy of Animal Crossing and thats what makes it fun; achieving something and once you do meet your goals, it is the greatest feeling ever!

I think you should just explore new villagers you've never had.

PS I assume you're like 15 but move out when you can. Sounds like you have to sneak around your mother a lot lol.

i'd probably go with option 2 mainly cause i like buying amiibo cards lmao

this is a really difficult decision tho..al the best!

I'm thinking about three. I feel like #1 is going to bite me in the butt if we ever go on vacation.

I know. I miss the fresh unpredictability of the GC where you had no control who moved and when. But I also hate seeing super ugly villagers and being just like. MOVE.

I'm 22. 23 in two months. Yeah.

I want to explore new villagers, and that's part of what I'm trying to do, but selectively.

Oh sorry. Didn't kean to insult or anything. Just figured she wouldn't care what you spend your money on if you were older

You didn't offend me. <3 You would think so though, haha. x)
It doesn't matter if it's food, electronics or doctors' visits. It's complicated.

Back on topic! I'm curious as to what I really should do, because my father will be home from work soon and I have to get my Photo ID updated. Hoping to have decided by then if I need him to run me over to Best Buy for some cards or Gamestop/Walmart for a new system. ;3; Today would be ideal as I'm working tomorrow...

And yes, I'm not driving yet either.
I'm going to therapy next month hoping to work out my anxiety issues.

This is getting way too personal. xD

Any more opinions guys?

just start over yes I know it's a lot of work but it's safe
and with not real money involvment ^_^

If it was me, I'd just start over instead of buying a new console or amiibo cards. I personally don't think it's worth putting so much money into obtaining a couple villagers. Especially seeing as you can get them for free, even if it takes some time and effort. I'd much rather spend the effort than the money, but that's just me. If you have the money and want to be absolutely sure you don't loose the villagers in the future, it might be best to just buy the cards. If you end up doing it, you could get some of your money back by selling the unneeded cards online.

Option 1's worst in my opinion. You'd end up spending a lot of money without any guarantee that you won't lose the villagers in the future and in addition, it seems like you'd have to constantly worry about hiding the other console from your mom.

I'm leaning that way the more I think about it... it would be refreshing to have a new town layout.

But should I sell my catalog along with it?

You know, you're right about that. I'd hate having that anxiety looming over my shoulders. And actually thinking about it... I'd spend more on the cards than I would on a new handheld and game put together.

I guess saving my furniture at my brother's until the wipe is done is the least painful, when you think about it.

Problem is he's grounded right now for slacking on his schoolwork, and until he catches up he doesn't get the DS. Which means I won't be seeing it either.

Start over – I restarted yesterday and it's quite nice to start from scratch with new villagers and a new town layout. Plus you don't have to spend RLC on it. ^^

Tis true, tis true. ;3;

You felt no regrets afterwards? Did you sell your catalog and if so, did that affect Cyrus?

Nope, no regrets. Kinda sad since you only know how you truly feel about something if you "let it go".

I didn't sell my catalog but I haven't unlocked Cyrus yet. But I can remember that you have to have lived in town for a certain amount of days, so maybe that's why.

P.S. Is there anyone that can back me up here? Anyone that has Marshal, Kyle & Wolfgang's cards to scan in if I restart? I think the pain would sink pretty deep. They're fixtures in my town, and I'd feel empty without them... At least being somewhere new isn't so bad if you have your best friends to back you. <3 Haha

That does reveal a lot, I suppose. I feel stuck with my town, overgrown bamboo and all. How does layout resetting work again?

You're probably right about that one. Me, for as much as I use him, would be tempted to TT forward. ._.;
