2 cartridges one friend code??

I'm thinking of getting another cartridge and was wondering if I can wifi with my town but they both games are used on the same DS?

Will that work?

Also would there be a way to transfer bugs I catch? Is the only option to set them free?

Yeah, you can have as many cartridges as you want (and one digital copy) under the same FC. Your wi-fi will work just fine. You can't transfer bugs though.

no point in getting a 2nd cartridge then since you'll never be able to interact with your 2nd town which i think is the whole purpose.

idk, I've done multiple towns tons of times in the past that never interacted directly

I just like to have so I can do multiple design plans, have more villagers I like, etc


plus having your own towns interact seems somehow incredibly depressing imo

I think you have to be a resident of the town to donate to the museum.
