Identity is multiple things, it can be how you identify yourself as, how others identify you, or how to law identifies you. Your identity defines who you are, it shows who you think you are, and who others think you are. It shows the bias of both you and others.
Who you think you are is part of your identity. You might believe yourself to be always right and rather nice when you might actually be a self-entitled jerk. You might believe yourself to be not very good at anything when others see you as good at everything. Who others think you are also contributes to your identity as well, for example if some people think you are dangerous and vengeful (like medea) I could mean you are very dangerous, or it could just mean you got a bad name for nothing, (unlike medea). Your identity in front of the law for example back in the old days you would have a lot more rights if the law identified you as a male rather than a female, also if you identified as gay the law would not accept that.
In conclusion, you identity is made up of different things. Who you identify yourself as, what gender, what skills, what race? Who others identify you as, are you dangerous, are you a friend, are you nice? And what the law identifies you as, what rights, criminal records, illegal or legal? Over all these things define who you are.Why are you reading this?
