They were having a drug/beer party and he didnt get any.

Well the kid was eight at the time... so spankings could refer to any amount of beatings and abuse.

I don't know why a kid would do this but it sounds like he really hated his dad, in fact it sounds like the dad made him hate his own life to such a huge degree killing seemed like the only way out.... really sad.

i still think that kids/small children do sometimes deserve a spanking if they r bad,but not EXCESSIVELY,thats too bad for the boy...
