Mafia TBT Mafia III: The Murder Before Christmas [Game Over/Town Win]

That brings up even more scenarios where it could be a terrible idea. They roleclaim townie? Oh, we know they're not a townie, they were last game. Why would they hide something unless they were mafia or assassin? Let's lynch them!

Even more that scum just look at a list of the players who were Townie last game, because they'll be a blue this game.

Or they could be Mafia or Assassins. I just think roles should be chosen well, because having the same role twice in a row is boring because you're not doing anything new.

It's only boring if you're a townie again. I'd love to be a vig again.

Yeah. You're not doing anything new, you don't have any more power to help your Town/Mafia members.

Well then people are going to have to deal with that. If you don't want to have the chance of being the same role again/a townie again/ WHATEVER then don't play, simple as that.

I'm just saying the roles should be chosen well, not just randomly picked. But I'm sure Kayla and Tom will choose well, especially since we need action in this game. On another note, will the game start after the roles are assigned?

(just drop it the whole role thing)

Well if you're a townie and you're upset about it, try to become the mayor or hope you become one of the Body Guards.

That way you have some "action" in the game.

This is absolutely wrong. Townies are just as important. Too many people think blues are the gods of town. Look where that got town last game, where the blues were led completely astray. Now imagine if there were no blues last game. Then you have to rely on pure town analysis. Which is what 80% of town play should be.

I didn't say the Townies weren't important, they are. You just don't have any other power to help nail down the mafia except your vote and your ability to analyze posts and attempt to try and find slip-ups to tell the Town.

You think that isn't enough on your plate?

I'd rather a townie who talks and post meaningful analysis than a blue role who just sits there and thinks 'What do I have to do for these townies? They'd basically die without me lol.'

So Kayla and I discussed, and since I imagine we'll be pestered about this much like the post requirement (poll still open if you haven't voted), one Mafia player will be delivering all the kills. What does this mean exactly for the town? Blue roles will have to be more careful, as one wrong slip could have them on the mafia hit list. Alternatively, if all Mafia players are busy and no one delivers the kills, we may have a night cycle where nothing at all happened.

As for the post requirement, it looks like it'll drop to three unless something changes in the poll. Roles will be decided soon and a set time thrown out.

I hated being a townie again at the beginning of last game, but I was relieved when I eventually got promoted to Bodyguard. So I hope to get something much different.

If one of the mafia is incarcerated, can they still send in a kill? Or do they have to get one of the others to do it?

The analysis isn't always spot on, which is where the Detectives come in to actually see if someone's hiding something. My point was that people should a chance to try a new role and see how they do in it. A Townie could switch to being the Godfather, and experience being Mafia and hiding it. That's what I'm saying here, really. I wasn't trying to bring other things up, but I get what you mean. Let's just drop it, because we both know this isn't a useful argument.

Consider this game a fresh slate. What happened in the past is the past. Prior roles should (to a certain extent) be considered irrelevant and shouldn't have too much weight on which roles are allocated this time. Do that and the scales are unbalanced right from the very beginning.
