And why is that? I thought the politics was what made the stats bad, but it's more about the culture problems. The reason why I brought up politics is because of why I rather stay in the south rather than move.

Not all left wingers are gay and not all left wingers are socialists.
You're proud to live in a state with no gun control!? You realise that this means that gives gangs more access to guns thus murder is HIGHER
remember when they banned alcohol and nobody had access to it, especially not the gangs?
or when they made heroin and other hard drugs illegal so there was none of it on the streets?
bcuz i dont either
I agree that gun control is still a good thing
but I just died at this c;

Hitler controlled guns and that led to mass genocide.
Jeez this is still going. And going fast at that.
In Switzerland 1 out of 2 people own at least one gun, they are required to take corses in school on how to handle and use a gun and gun murder is amazingly low. But this inbetween control crap is not working.
this was shamelessly put into action in the aftermath of sandy hook, it was absolutely disgraceful to use the bodies of dead children to advance a political cause.Stung by years of the public's rejection of their gun control and anti-freedom agenda, the gun control movement has resorted to paid consultants to develop a new playbook they hope with will be able to shift the debate in their favor. Completed in 2012, and titled, Preventing Gun Violence Through Effective Messaging, the guide is the result of opinion research done by the firms OMB, Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, and KNP Communications. The authors portray the document as a manual for gun control activists on how to better frame their positions for legislative success, by providing the reader with anti-gun talking points, language guidance, and "back of the envelope facts." Furthermore, there is evidence that it has seen some use in recent antigun efforts.
One area in which the document's advice has been followed is the near complete reliance on emotional arguments by anti-gun activists in recent gun control campaigns. While in years past, gun controllers would often cite dubious and debunked studies and statistics to further their argument, the debate culminating in the vote on the Manchin-Toomey-Schumer amendment was largely devoid of anti-gun junk science. We'll take some credit for this development, in that we helped cut off the Center for Disease Control's funding of purposefully anti-gun research, but this complete abandonment of any attempt at empirical persuasion may also have been by design.
Hey there aren't millions of people who are need interventions because booze runs free.
I never said gun control is bad. In Australia it's illigal to own a gun and gun murders are amazingly low. o and fbi reports show that in states with more guns, violent crime rates are lower.

eh not quite, its just that switzerland has a draft, and they have a very healthy shooting culture on top of that so ppl dont just have guns because they r mandated to.
u cant try and simplify a problem to "we shudnt have guns because they facilitate criminal gangs"
English. How about we use it?
America has a draft. So um why point this out?
I love that you are putting words in my mouth. :U I have no problem with gun control, in fact my issue is the lax control of guns in America scares me. I can walk into a pawn shop and walk out with a gun in America. I can order a gun in the mail in America. This is frightening because the ease of access to guns is how people who will commit murder/use the guns without proper training get the guns and this is how people get killed. I feel like the laws should be in place to protect the general public from people whom are past offenders / have severe mental issues / don't have proper training from getting guns.
Guns scare me. I've personally been shot by a gun in a robbery when I was working. I was hospitalised for 3 weeks when I was just 16 from a gunshot wound to my side, tore up my liver. This person who had the gun was mentally ill and desperate for money. I was glad I was the only one hurt all in all, but because of this I don't like guns. The half ass laws need to either be stronger or need to be more clear cut, because people die with the crappy, half followed laws we have now in america.
yes instead they started lighting fires to kill many ppl insteadI mean, there is the result of Australia's massive gun control, which has basically eliminated mass shootings (in comparison to the United States where we have a shooting every week).
Granted, they're an island and can massively stop the importing of guns (or at least limit it a lot more than the US).

u know ur losing an argument when you have to start off by insulting the other persons grammar
I'm sorry but bad grammar is a huge annoyance to me. I'm not having an argument, I'm having a discussion.
