Why aren’t the items you can buy daily ever updated or new?

What is the point of even checking out the same old items from Tommy/Timmy and the clothing?

They have items that can only be obtained from them, but that's it. Once you've bought them all, you'll never find any new ones. It's mainly there as filler until you can craft or obtain the items you actually want.

And I was wondering why they offer the same stuff over and over again whenever I check them out... Good to know now what the reason is. :/

There are some latter classes in the normal HHA courses that require items bought from them, so there's reason to buy them apart from just filling your catalog.
