Removing a plot?

I know this is a real n00b question, but one of my villagers moved out and I've got an empty plot. Is there a way to remove it until I can find a villager I want?

Unfortunately no, once a plot is placed you can’t get rid of it. All you can do is change its location.

Oh no, that sucks I was hoping NH would be more laid back in terms of avoiding random move-ins but I guess not. Fingers crossed someone's got a Shep I can adopt. :|

Hope ya find shep! also heck ya ab the mystery island villager thingy 0.o weird how they do that with the campsite but not for mystery islands. I feel like I never find smugs on 'em tho. think i've only ever seen like 2 smugs out of allllll the mystery islands ive been to lmao

If you are short on time and don't mind time traveling, you can always set your clock back to 5am current day (say, Sep 3rd) and don't go past 5am on the next day (Sep 4th). 5am is when the game counts it as a new day. Your plot won't get filled if you stay on that day.

Also I have a bit too many NMTs (500+) in my storage and I'd love to trade you 1:1 for TBT if you ever need them c:
