so me and a friend were thinking... Sai is an artist who uses drawings as his specialty with a paintbrush
Paint tool sai and Sai are awfully similar
so we decided that they probably have a connection to eachother so we wanted to see which was influenced by the other.
-Development for paint tool sai began August 2, 2004, but the first official version was released October 13, 2006.
-Sai was introduced in episode 32 of Naruto Shippuden which aired October 25, 2007.
SO! That means that the character Sai from Naruto Shippuden was possibly inspired by the program Paint Tool Sai.
in a sense, an artist on paint tool sai painted sai painting on paint tool sai.
