I'm making a new thread since the old one is a legacy thread from TBT 1.0 (so it's got a bunch of corrupted posts from the transfer).

Anyway, discuss the Zelda timeline and whatnot!

I'm actually working on a timeline video at the moment, and here's a preview if you're interested:

(Keep in mind that this is not the final video, this is just the base. The finished project will be much better, complete with audio commentary, developer quotes and other supporting information and graphics, and music and video clips from the Zelda games.)

Wow, this is really cool, Tye! Can't wait to watch the final version (and the hate comments by the zelda fanboys)

It's surprising that such good quality videos don't get as much views.

I don't expect it to get many views, lol. It's just a sneak preview I uploaded so my subscribers know that something big is coming. But I do expect the finished video to get a lot of views. I'm hoping it spreads throughout the Zelda community (which is something that's really not that hard to accomplish, since anything Zelda related tends to spread like wildfire through the Zelda community) and becomes one of the more popular timeline theories.

ALL BASED ON SPECULATION
Wouldn't Oracle of seasons and ages be on different parts of the time line but be at the same time? I always thought those two games happened at the same time but just alternate universes? Unless that's how you already have it.

so, it isn't just me, there's actually no audio, right?
Right. Read the video description.
Here's a sneak peak at my upcoming Zelda timeline video! This is just the keynote that will serve as a guide throughout the video, but the finished project will be complete with audio commentary, developer quotes and other supporting information and graphics, and music and video clips from the Zelda games. I don't have a set timeframe for when the finished video will be uploaded, but I do expect it to be done before The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is released.

No, lol. The Oracle games can't take place on alternate timelines. They don't happen at the same time, one happens immediately after the other (Seasons coming first, followed by Ages).

I think oot comes after skyward sword cause up until this point oot has been considered the first game in the series. You also get the master sword for the first time and ss is about the making if the master sword. I might post later again after a bit more looking into it

Yeah, it's been confirmed that SS comes before OoT. And the developers have also implied that the Four Sword series (TMC-FS/FSA) takes place before OoT, too. The problem is figuring out where Skyward Sword goes in relation to the Four Sword series.

I've updated the video with annotations so it's easier to understand until I finish the final video, lol.

Actually it all depends on which one you play first. They're interchangeable as far as timelines go. I always played ages first.

Technically, yes, they can be played in either order. But Seasons is first in my timeline because in all official media, Seasons is always listed before Ages, and the official manga also tells the story of Seasons first.

Plus everyone know that Seasons is better than Ages.
