Nintendo has stated they will reveal their next console at next year's E3. Hopefully it won't be as underwhelming as this year's E3. What do you think about Nintendo's next console? Are you excited on the possible line up of games for the NX, like for example: the next main Animal Crossing game, Or are you annoyed of the thought that the games that should have been released for the Wii U could be released for the NX? Also, what do you think about the NX being a hybrid console? Or what do you think a hybrid console is?
This thread can also be about what you would like to see for Nintendo's next console.

Not to burst your bubble, but I think there's already a thread on this somewhere around here....

Okay honestly I'm really sick of Nintendo dropping new consoles every 2 years now like this is RIDICULOUS. QUIT IT.

I spent 200$ last year on my limited edition Zelda bundle, and 300$ this year for a limited edition Wii-U bundle, and I'm not ****ing okay with spending so much SO often. Not to mention their games are now hitting 60-80$. They're literally nickel-and-diming us to death.

I just want it to have hardware that's more competitive with the PS4/Xbone so that developers are more likely to release a Nintendo port of their games, without being put off that they've got to 'dumb down' their game to work properly and add support for the gamepad.

If you only own a Wii U, you may as well refer to multiplatform games as 'non Wii U exclusives'.

Well. Why are you buying your consoles literally 3 years after they go out ? Nintendo's consoles usually have a 5 years lifespan. The 3DS might have 6 years lifespan and the Wii U 4 because it doesn't sell well. It's not that abusive.

It's not ridiculous to wait three years to buy the Wii U after the showing it's had. I only just got mine this past Christmas after Nintendo announced that they'd be releasing a Zelda game at some point, and I know others have been waiting for similar games to grab their interest before they buy since the Wii U's starting lineup wasn't terribly impressive.

I'd like to see more main title games on the next console. There haven't really been any on the Wii U, and they're releasing the only Zelda game at the end of its lifetime, and I'd rather not have that happen again.

Well then be prepared to get a new console announced within a year of your purchase or so.

I sincerely hope Nintendo's next console has something new and interesting to offer. The GamePad was interesting for a while, but it lost interest. I'd buy the next console if it has a strong Virtual Console lineup at launch, with promises of HD GameCube remakes towards the end of its life.

If you don't want to spend so often then don't, they aren't forcing you to buy every console. They're essentially going to pump out as much new product as possible like every other business. Although I agree that game prices are getting crazy compared to the price of consoles. I don't have a Wii U but the price of it's games that I've seen are ridiculous, as well as the fact that most first-party games don't decrease much in value.

I don't have much of an opinion about the new console until more information is released. I'm curious to see what they've come up with though.

Although I'm already ready for Nintendo's upcoming console, there is little information we know about so far. How could we honestly give our opinions on the actual console when Nintendo hasn't revealed much? But I certainly have my thoughts about the generation of 3DS and Wii U.

Some of us remembered that the Nintendo 3DS had a pretty rocky launch year in 2011, starting with rather underwhelming launch titles for us to stick with. Thankfully, the Virtual Console games came around June and I remember playing a lot on them and DS games until Super Mario 3D Land came. After that, the tides have turned and the system started picking steam and became another great Nintendo handheld to own. Why? Because the list of the most notable games is expanding and is much more varied than at the launch and is fantastic. It doesn't innovate as much as its predecessor did, but it still is an enjoyable ride at the end of the day. Despite the upcoming games of 2015-2016 being too much centered on sequels, spinoffs and oddities, it still doesn't show any sign of slowing down pretty soon. I'm looking forward a lot of them, which is a very good sign that the 3DS is still alive as heck.

I can't say that the Wii U is performing quite well, which happens to have a decent launch lineup to boot. We even have fantastic games, such as New Super Mario Bros. U and Nintendo Land. However, the game drought lasted a lot longer than the 3DS did and I had to rely on Virtual Console games while we wait for the more interesting retail games to surface, such as Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World and more.
My problem with the console is that they promised they'll make use of the unique Wii U GamePad, yet there still aren't many games that took advantage of it outside of just Off-TV Play outside of Nintendo Land, Game & Wario, Splatoon and Mario Maker. Don't get me wrong, Wii U hosted some of the best games I ever played in awhile, but I still feel like the bulky Wii U GamePad is practically useless for the most part (barring some games and System Settings). Therefore, I'm not surprised on why even Nintendo is struggling to market the console properly and ended up with much worse sales figures than the GameCube that is comparable to Sega Dreamcast. I'm surprised that Nintendo is apparently continuing to support Wii U up until a year or so after NX launches and I managed to have at least three titles that I'm ecstatic to purchase.

Given the healthy game lineup for both Wii U and 3DS (along with other games that I still have to play), it's fair to say that I don't need to get NX around the time it launches, unless if they launch games that are too great to pass up and if the games that follows after are really enticing me. But right now, it's hard to tell when I'm going to get the next Nintendo system.

How are we supposed to have opinions on something that hasn't even been released yet? All we know about it is that its un-official name is the NX. That's literally all we know. It'd be stupid for somebody to have an opinion on it already.

This is supposed to be about having your opinions on what you would like to see on the next console. It does not have to be specifically about what we know. You should think about that before writing.

The Wii U still feels very recent to me. As such I'm not really interested in buying yet another Nintendo console.

Lol no the console which is codenamed: NX is scheduled sometime around 2018... So Wii U will be a thing for quite some time still. And it should, it DOES sell well lately...
