Your opinion on Marshal?

My opinion is that people are way too obsessed with him.
They're either obsessed because they like him,
or they're obsessed because he's popular, and they don't like him.
The obsession has to end. He's just a villager in a game.
He's just a little white squirrel. That's all. He's not amazing.
He's not horrible. He's just a bunch of pixels. People need to chill.
 
When he first moved into my village I googled him and couldn't believe how popular he was; he's just a grumpy faced squirrel. But now after a few days chatting to him he's *my* grumpy faced squirrel and I think he's marvellous :D
 
For me,I don't ever consider if a villager I'd like to have in my town is popular/overrated/underrated/constipated.If I like 'em,I get 'em.I got Marshal in my town because I was due to have a smug move in and I had just learned about plot resetting for villagers.His plot came up,so I looked him up and discovered that he was a squirrel and that was enough for me.He's been one of my best villagers ever since.He does seem to have a mild obsession with Filbert but hey....who doesn't?

No idea why he's so popular. He's got a mean face and he's short af.

Reminds me of one of those snobby rich kids.
 
In the beginning, I didn't think much of him, but when I started to see more of him around the Forums, he started to grow on me XD He is rather overrated, but he will always be a Dreamie of mine nonetheless. c:
 
I had him in my last town and really liked him. The contrast between his appearance and personality was what I found enjoyable. I time traveled too much at one point and he moved away, though. :/
 
I didn't care one way or the other at first. I invited him into my town from the campsite. I figured I could adopt him out, so someone could really enjoy him. The little guy grew on me, and I was a little bit sad to see him go.

I think he's probably one of the best squirrels besides Hazel, but I wouldn't have him in my town.
However, my sister had him since a week after the game came out in 2013, she's dedicated her town flag to him, and he's her favorite animal besides the 3 octopus's. She never went on forums like these to shape her decision, it was just adorable love at first sight I guess!​

I've had him twice. I voided him the first time because I didn't use the trade boards, and gave him away the second time. He's not someone I really want in my town, but he is cute, in my opinion. One of the reasons he doesn't appeal to me is because he's so common. He's in so many towns. However, I don't hate the little fellow. I think he's one of the better villagers out of the tier 5's.
 
He was in my campsite the other day, but I had a full town. I thought I would be disappointed, but I realized that I didn't find anything remarkable about him... at all. If he weren't so popular, I wouldn't have given him a second thought.
 
He's just so cute! He's got the little mad face, is a tiny squirrel, wears a tough denim vest, and he's a flirt. He's just all around adorable.
 
I got him from an auction here and honestly? I don't get the hype. He's cute and all, but...meh.

When it comes to smugs, O'Hare and Ken are my favs.
 
I looked through the nookipedia list when I was first starting out (and prior to knowing about AC tierorism) and wrote down a long list of villagers that positively stuck out to me. Marshall didn't make the cut. In fact, a lot of top-tier villagers didn't, but I think that's just because I'm often not looking for the same things in a villager that seem to make them popular (namely, cuteness). Right near the top of my list, however, was Nibbles--the real best squirrel in the game.
 
I got him as a starter smug that I reset for once and he wasn't there long due to a event no ping tt accident, I practically gave him away as was so upset and it was late that I didn't think it through, that's why if you get a popular original in boxes unexpected and panic take some time, then put them up for sell, auction, trade when thinking clearly, as I haven't had many t 1s go and could have used the sale from the accident but I panicked and let him go for well, my mistake I didn't know his worth then.

Back on topic, I didn't have him long, but just enough to know he was what I call the type b smug. There are Smugs that are kind of boring, depressed feeling, not very interactive...aka boring. I didn't have time to friend him enough to see if it would change but have had others that were that way, so he just wasn't a good fit anyway. The type A smug I prefer more extroverted: Kyle, Colton, Curlos. I say overrated, not very sociable, people may think he is cute but I didn't enjoy him which is the main point, his personality was too bland and I already had Filbert, for a cute squirrel at the time.

I think he will always be t1 because some people are seeking him just to sell him I think, that's not popularity it's a cycle of greed that throws off the actual popularity or seeking chart. Gets off soapbox, lol.
 
He's definitely adorable and I used to want him in my town so bad but now I am not so fond of him. Pecan and Blaire are the cutest squirrels in the game anyway!
